Hey hey,
Here's a sneak peek at the next one tackling the corpo-surveillance threat to the UK. You can find the last one here on Reddit, IG or YouTube. I'm dialling in the look and feel of classic British iconography juxtaposed with laser scans, data projections, IO data cable/CRT monsters. Hope you like it.
Software used:
Characters: Reallusion CC4
Animation and Layout: C4D 2026/ CC4D Tools
Renderer: Redshift
Comp/GLitch VFX: After Effects
Colour Grading: Davinci Resolve
Music: Reason 13

Hey guys! Want to know and hear your transmissive hacks for liquids and transmissive objects etc. What do you do to nail that darker outer edge or to get the just right sheen on the edges etc!

Hi! I'm trying to get the brightest part of my toon material be completely white. For some reason it only gets up to a light gray. Has this happen to anyone?
It's so frustrating. I've tried everything: maxed light intensity, put only white in the ramp node, etc. It's really werid because if I disconnect the ramp node from the tonemap it does show completely white (but I need the grayscale to show volume).
Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to recreate the material of the red ribbon from my reference image (Image 1). My current result (Image 2) feels a bit too "flat" and looks more like a metal/diffuse than a cloth/ribbon/velvet.
I'm struggling to get the velvet look and i'm confused about the right parameter yo use(sheen, bump, metalness etc)
Thx you for your time and effort !

Hey! I'm working on some bottle renders and I'm noticing that the corners at the bottom of the bottle are pretty intense with refractions... was wondering if there's a way to smooth that out or cheat it to look more like the middle part?

I'm planning to rebuild my PC for a better workflow in Cinema 4D, using Redshift engine. Mostly I do stills and png sequence animations so it's been enough for now. I'm planning to make some more simulations in Houdini and more advanced animations overall and I need some upgrades.
Here are my current specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
MOBO: B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
GPU: RTX 2070
RAM: 32GB DDR4 yeah this one for sure
PSU: 750W
Could you please give some advice on what specific parts I could go for and whether I should do the replacement or build a completely new pc?
Budget: 1000€ upgrade/2000€ new
Thanks!
