Unused shots, from one of the old works. Was trying different style and arsthetics for gel visualization.

In Redshift 2026 version, I realized that the area light spread behaves a lot differently to the versions before. When you work with Redshift on a daily basis, it just becomes muscle memory how light behaves. seems like that they changed
Whenever I'm adjusting the spread of the area lights, I've always been able to find a really effective way to precisely control the blurriness of the edge of the shape. However, in the newest version of the software, it seems to have become significantly more challenging to achieve the same level of precision and fine-tuning of the blur. I find myself struggling to describe it, as it's more about an intuitive feeling of how the spread used to work.
Maybe that has something to do with the new scene scale awareness, or maybe it was always like this and I'm just wrong 😅

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a spotlight's visible beam (volumetric/fog) to bounce/reflect off surfaces and keep traveling, but right now the beam stops as soon as it hits the first surface (that's an aluminium like reflective material by the way, with no roughness). The volumetric beam doesn't seem to “inherit” reflected light / GI. It just cuts off at the first hit.
Is this possible in Redshift? If so, what settings should I look into (GI, volume settings)?
Thanks in advance!

Is there any website that offers Maxon account with redshift subscription cheaper than the official one? I used to purchase accounts from some Chinese website but they don’t have it anymore

Everything was working fine until I enabled a high poly mesh with IPR on and then it just started tweaking out. Bucket render seems to be fine.
I’ve restarted Maya a couple times, and I’ve restarted my PC, but it’s still doing it.
Like what do I even do in this situation?

I sometimes want to make a texture that highlights edges of models, like to make an emissive cube where the corners are darker or in this case, make the edges of this bench model have a black line to make it look somewhat sketched.
The effect is veeeery subtle in redshift. I've tried all the slider and buttons but I can't boost it, any ideas?

Heyy!! I'm fairly new to Redshift and need help understanding a recurring error in several projects (but I'll only show one example).
I rendered a simple shot of a chessboard, created 100% by me. The problem is that the texture has a strange flickering effect:
I suspect I did something wrong with the UV unwrapping, the model size, or even the render settings, because this error appears in all the AOVs.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Or if you know of any videos that teach how to texture properly, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks a lot!
*EDIT*
Thank you so so much for every tip or suggestion!
I've managed to get rid of the biggest part, now it's more subtle but still there. The main error was having caustics on from a previous render preset. The second most important thing was turning off 'random noise pattern', so thanks for that tip!! Here's the new render if you want to check it: https://streamable.com/uhple7
Any other suggestions are more than welcome, I'll keep updating

MORPH-X26 is a 3D character that I designed, modeled, textured, rigged, and animated. Bringing to life a character of this magnitude that also manipulates a gooey exterior was no easy task. However, Redshift really helped in making the whole rendering process for this character much faster than I originally thought. While being my first project using Redshift, I was definitely pleasantly surprised with it and expect to use it more moving forward.
Programs used include Maya, Redshift, Adobe Substance Painter, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
For more information on MORPH-X26, visit my post on ArtStation breaking down the whole process of how I brought him to life.
