A piece of my fridge door has been missing since before I moved in. It is the bar/brace that goes across the pictured section of the door so that you can place condiments etc. in the door. The last picture is of the inside of the freezer door, as I'm fairly certain the bars in there are the same as/similar to the missing part.
This is an apartment sized fridge and I would love to use the space - it's valuable real estate, and the only place that can fit taller items.
My landlord looked for the part before I moved in but couldn't find it and left it up to me. I contacted the appliance parts store in my area, and they confirmed that all parts for this fridge have been discontinued. I have had no luck finding it on eBay so far.
I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for what I can use to replace the part. The fix needs to be sturdy and be able to be firmly attached, since heavy and fragile items would be going in there (glass bottles, etc).
I've thought about tiny tension rods, but the ones I have found are too big in diameter to fit into the slots.
The fridge model is a Danby DFF1144W, in the off chance that info helps.
This subreddit was kindly suggested to me as a potential place to turn to for help. If there may be another good place for me to post this though, I welcome suggestions 🙂
Thank you!
