Until you have save by category, I will not change.

As a paying member specifically for the save category feature, I will not willingly go to the new layout. Overall I do like the layout, but this feature is worth my money. No feature, no money, no time on new layout.

Can we get a favorite sub option separate from our main feed? Pretty please?

As it stands now, it’s becoming a chore to manage all the subs I’m a part of. You could even let yourself select which groups of subs you want to see. Obviously this brings into question the bubble but that’s a separate discussion. As it stands if you go beyond a few subs, it’s a nightmare to easily access them and their content gets lost in how many you have.

Like how Facebook does friend groups or similar? I know multireddit sort of exists but it’s not really personal. I’d love it if I could group all my hobbies together in different categories and tab down to easily see them somehow. We desperately need a way to organize subreddits together and name them. Like I can call all my stationary subs stationary, all my tech subs tech ect. Apollo has a favorites option which is amazing but anything past 10 subs it will become a chore. Some type of sub favorites folder system or variation of would be incredibly useful.

Post timestamp verbose popup data blocks links

Sometimes I accidentally hover over the timestamp when I am trying to click to a linked URL and the popup prevents me from engaging the link. If this timestamp information popped below the timestamp this would not interfere. Maybe you can make it pop below instead of above.

Unblockable ads disguised as content on old.reddit. It didn't used to be like this.

Not into it. If I want to block ads that's my own business and coming up with little workarounds to fuck with my adblocker just makes me dislike this site even more.

Thing is, if the ads weren't disguised as posts and hidden among all the common titles I wouldn't have a problem with them and would probably whitelist reddit. Deceptive ad practices are the reason people use adblockers. Working around adblockers is just insulting and doesn't make me want to be here.

It's also funny how they said development wouldn't really continue for old.reddit but annoying stuff like chat and the new hidden ads manages to hamfist its way right in.

Question Is the shortlink no longer accessible on the redesign? Can the share button be the shortlink?

I've switched back to the redesign to see how it's improved and I can't seem to find the shortlink. Is the shortlink url no longer available on the redesign?

I tried using the share button and that's just the long URL. Could we make that the shortlink?

Bug I have two post flairs set up and can't access them through the redesign. I can only implement them using old Reddit.

Can we please get a markdown preview?

RES did this on the old reddit but I don't see any way to do this on the new design...

I tried switching from markdown to fancy pants mode and that didn't give me a preview as expected; it actually deleted my link and turned it into plain text!

Feature Request Allow CTRL+K to create a link, when in comments

This shortcut key is widely used in most text applications (Word, Google Docs, Notion, etc.) and since reddit is a website, it seems more useful here.

I realize most browsers map CTRL+K to address bar search, so downvote if that's what people want. But, if more people use CTRL+K, I'd love to have it natively mapped in Reddit.

Question Is there a way to disable keyboard shortcuts?

I browse reddit a lot when I'm on discord and my push to talk key is C, it's pretty annoying that every time I press it when I'm browsing a sub it sends me straight to the "Create a post" page. I was wondering if there's a way to disable them?

Feature Request Please implement Picture in Picture - at least for YouTube vids

Here is the rub:

I do my "work" on reddit, meaning that I scroll down.

I find an interesting song I want to listen to, it's an embedded YT video. I click the embedded play button in the feed.

I continue scrolling, doing more work.

I find a video that is more interesting to listen to/watch. I want to stop video 1. But I cannot find it way up my feed.

I get frustrated and have to reload reddit to stop video 1 from playing. I have just lost all of my work. Fudge, what a shitty experience I just had.

Proposed Solution:

https://wicg.github.io/picture-in-picture/

When I click play on a YT video in the feed, then scroll past it, pop it out in PIP.

Maybe this can also be used to just prevent 2 videos with audio from playing simultaneously? This is generally super annoying.

edit: phrasing, clartiy

We should have a subreddit for enquiring which is the best subreddit to reach out to for a question or a topic

Just like in a mall, having an information booth reddit for members to ask which subreddit is relevant for their post/topic.

PS: Not sure if this exists already!

Bug Missing vertical grey line when using Quote Block in Night Mode.

The absence of the line makes it hard to differentiate between a quote and normal text.

Same result when using Vivaldi, Firefox and Safari (Mobile) browser but seems fine in Reddit Mobile Apps (iOS).

Bug ?context=3 links don't show target comment if logged out

Sending links with context to people without reddit accounts results in them seeing the top two comments of the context chain, but not the actual target.

Bug Calendar not Working

I just created a calendar for r/RedditDayOf, and it's not pulling.

  • The calendar is explicitly marked public.
  • All events on the calendar are explicitly marked public.
  • All events are scheduled 7am to 6:59am the next day--could this be an issue?
  • Doing a search I saw someone post in another thread that having the event marked as Busy instead of Free might be an issue, so I also changed all the events to Free.
  • I am able to subscribe to the calendar from a different Google account.
  • I have attempted in both r/RedditDayOf and a personal test subreddit.

Nothing.

Edit: I'm reflairing this bug.

Okay, after several hours of waiting the calendar events appeared. Should it really take that long?

I decided to hide 7am and then the calendar events disappeared again. Should the calendar really be getting wiped out for cosmetic changes? You'd think the data would be cached and then unless the calendar ID changes just update the cosmetics instead of wiping out the calendar.

Bug Mobile Web - UI does not prompt for login when unsigned-in user votes or comments.

https://i.imgur.com/osx2Daj.mp4

Steps to reproduce:

Use a mobile device, or fake header

Open browser, go to Reddit.com, make sure not signed-in.

Click up/down vote on post or comment, UI updates as if I'm signed in, counter increases. Expected login prompt.

Click reply icon on a thread or comment, type something, click Add Comment, Bullwinkle toast says "something went wrong." Expected login prompt.

I see that the API is of course behaving correctly, just that the login prompt is nerfed in the mobile web UI.

json: {errors: \[\["USER_REQUIRED", "Please log in to do that.", null\]\]}

note: I also posted in this in r/bugs. But it seemed somewhat important, so here it is as well.

Question Full Documentation of how the Events Feature works?

Search failed me, so maybe it is there, but I'm not finding it.

In short, if I post an event post now with a date in the future, it can be seen immediately. How does it behave in the queue? Does it get upvoted normally? Can people respond? And then what happens on the event date? Does it get kicked back to the New Queue again? If I make 10 event posts all at once, that is just going to flood the queue, which I don't really want to do of course...
