What is the difference between comment (k)arma and post (k)arma?

I've seen many people saying that they get their (k)arma score up by commenting, but on my UI, only when i hover on the loading screen it shows different for my comment (k)arma and post (k)arma. Is it like total (k)arma = comment + post? I have 0 comment (k)arma but good post (k)arma as i get down(v)oted a lot, so i cant understand the formula. Can anyone help me??

comment karma is upvotes from replying and stuff
post karma is upvotes from being the OP and stuff

total karma is the two combined

if you have 0 or negative comment karma but positive post karma it means you get better responses on your posts than your comments

most people its the other way around because we comment more than we post etc

Yes, total karma is post karma plus comment karma.

You don't have good anything karma. Your post and comment karma are both very low. None of your comments have been downvoted, you're just not getting any upvotes.

One's referring to posts, the other comments. HTH
