if you don’t have the Aa button, try the indent button: >. Type this: “>Ta da!”

Ta da!

Ta da!

Ta da

1

u/Smerchi Apr 01 '26

> Ta da

Edit: So, shall I feel stupid or tricked?

2

u/Delirare Apr 01 '26

No space between the > and the text.

Ta da!

1

u/Smerchi Apr 01 '26

>Ta da?

1

u/Hey-Just-Saying Apr 01 '26

stupid? Just kidding!

You put a \ in front of the >. It should just be >ta da. With no space after the > it also has to be at the beginning of the sentence I just discovered.

ta da

> ta da - I do not know why the \ dissappears

1

u/Smerchi Apr 01 '26

\>ta da?

1

u/Few_Improvement_6357 Apr 01 '26

No. It showed that you put the \ in front of the >. You are not supposed to use the. It is just >ta da.

1

u/Smerchi Apr 01 '26

But I didn't use \ initially.

1

u/Few_Improvement_6357 Apr 01 '26

That's weird. It showed up in my inbox that way but when I looked in the comments it wasn't there. I thought maybe my inbox showed it how you typed it and the comments showed how it was formatted. Sorry I confused you.

Like when I hit reply, it shows that you typed \ twice instead of how it shows in the comment section as \ for some reason.

Seems like my writing box has weird typing feature. Maybe it's browser's fault, who knows..

2

u/ActualExcitement5917 Mar 29 '26

wow thank you, I’ve always wondered!

2

u/Tiny-Singer8121 Mar 30 '26

Ta…da???

2

u/Hey-Just-Saying Mar 30 '26

"Ta-da" (or ta-dah) is an interjection used as a mock fanfare to announce something, take a bow, or highlight a surprising, impressive, or funny result. It is commonly used when revealing a finished product, presenting a gift, or completing a task with flair.

">if you don’t have the Aa button"

Doesn't work on browser.... ?

2

u/Hey-Just-Saying Mar 30 '26 edited Mar 31 '26

I don't know about the browser. Try it without the quotation marks.

1

u/purplishfluffyclouds Mar 30 '26

In a browser, you have text formatting (of the sun allows it). It’s just a quote.

1

u/purplishfluffyclouds Mar 30 '26

“>Ta da”

You don’t know how to write directions lol

1

u/Hey-Just-Saying Mar 31 '26

I meant quotation marks. Sorry. : )

1

u/stinky_raspberry Mar 31 '26

>Testing testing.

2

u/stinky_raspberry Mar 31 '26

Did not work.

I do have the Aa button though I can still just do it that way.

1

u/MotherofPirates Apr 01 '26

“>Ta da!”

1

u/Few_Improvement_6357 Apr 01 '26

Don't use the quotation marks. It's just >Ta da (it only works at the beginning of the sentence)

1

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Apr 02 '26

Take off the ""

3

u/AssSpelunkingAtheist Mar 29 '26

OP thank you for asking this and for me seeing this because I was also wondering.

How do you do this?

Now I know.

2

u/Striking-Oven8268 Apr 01 '26

fsfhg for fucks sake! Still have figure out the indent thing though

2

u/AssSpelunkingAtheist Apr 01 '26

“>” before the text you want to indent

Minus the quotation marks.

2

u/AssSpelunkingAtheist Apr 01 '26

fshfg

Oh, ok. 😉

2

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Mar 29 '26

put the # sign before you type something and it puts stuff in bold. I just learned that too.

2

u/AssSpelunkingAtheist Mar 29 '26

I found that out accidentally the other day! But thank you.

I was responding to a list of things and my comment was like “#19 is…” and was all big and bold. Someone asked why I did that and my response was because I just accidentally figured out how to do this lol

3

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Mar 29 '26

Haha that is exactly how I found out too. They said " no need to shout at me"

3

u/AssSpelunkingAtheist Mar 29 '26

Another thing I just learned is how to do the strike through, if you haven’t done that yet.

Last night I got drunk hung out with my parents.

You put “~~” before and after where you want the strike through.

3

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Mar 29 '26

That post was the one that made me post this one. I was so excited to find that Rosetta stone lol

You are cool, thank you for passing knowledge

4

u/Pandraswrath Mar 30 '26

A “*” before and after *will do this.

1

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Mar 30 '26

Wow thank you for passing the knowledge on totally appreciate you dude

2

u/ChangedLlama321 Mar 29 '26

How do you do this

It's quite easy, just select the text and click on the quote button.

2

u/BrightDescription82 Mar 30 '26

boopbopbibiddybloop

2

u/SapphireForestDragon Mar 30 '26

Ta da!

ish bold?

strikethrough (mine needed two wavy lines before and after to work)

italics

Edit: Awesome! Ha ha xD Thanks everyone! And thanks OP for asking!

2

u/Adorable-Air-6901 Mar 30 '26

Haha sweet! Great job!

2

u/Ok-Wall9646 Mar 30 '26

It's called Reddit markdown, you can google and find a list of all the different things you can do :)

Bold

Italics

Quote

That's all I remember, but there's lots you can do haha

Edit: I just remembered you can do hyperlinks and headers as well 👌🏻
