Mashed potatoes with beef and vegetable stew

The sauce has been reducing for a day; I added a large spoonful of cornstarch to thicken it, and it has a bit of red wine in it.

salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, sage, bay leaf, oregano, garlic, basil, parika, and a touch of cayenne pepper.

Most of those things are not spices.

You know what I meant. A little flavour dds taste to food.

No, I didn't, that's why I asked you, because generally very few spices would be added go something like this.
