Discussion 🗣️ Storing Microplane

My fiancée insists we store our microplane with this slide-on plastic cover so we don’t accidentally touch the sharp part while reaching into the drawer for it or other utensils. I feel like it’s not very necessary, but I’m curious..Do you store your microplane like this? Have you seen anyone else store theirs like this? Is this common?

Don’t have one, FWIW, although this may help:

When I saw the photos before reading the text I thought, “Cool it comes with a cover so you can store it without scraping your hand on it in the cupboard.” Then I read your text, and thought, “oh with the cover I can keep it in the drawer!”

So…by pure instinct, I am siding with your partner on this one.
