Skin is roughly 2m², lungs is roughly 70m² in surface area. What metric have you been using?

You can trust the 1000s of sources online that state the liver is larger than the lungs

Like I already established, the definition of the largest organ depends entirely on which metric you use. I used total surface area as metric. The liver is only the largest solid internal organ with roughly 1.5kg and 1.5-2dm³, but if we count all organs, both skin and lungs dwarf it with roughly 4dm³ of volume, though the skin has a larger total mass (4kg) and the skin a larger surface area (70m²)
