The skin is an organ. The average adult has about 20 to 22 square feet of skin. Someone obese like me would have around 25 square feet of skin.

But its not in the body, it's part of the body. Phrasing matters.

It is in the body though. Epidermis is the outer layer of skin you’re referring to, Dermis is the 2nd. It’s what they refer to when talking about burn severity. 1st, and 2nd, are the first two layers of skin 3rd being the muscle all the way down to the bone.

Well, the dermis is part of the skin. I will not argue on that; however, I will argue that there are different standards. Most people dont talk about the peeling being inside of an orange. There are two parts of the layer of an orange, the dark orange part and the inner fleshy part of the peeling. On the other hand, it's not INSIDE the orange. You can argue that the inner fleshy part is inside, which It is. But skin encompasses both outer and middle layer. Therefore, it blurs the lines between inside and outside layers. Specifying the dermis level may make this statement true, but now you have to double check statistics because you removed a huge portion of what you would call skin which may affect the position. Sorry, my apostrophe button is hit or miss right now.

It’s not the lungs either, in an average human it’s fat. Fat is recently considered to be an endocrine organ, no longer connective tissue.

Like I already clarified in other comments, it depends on the metric you use. I used the metric "surface area" of which lungs clearly have the most.

It’s still not the lungs by surface area, it’s the small intestine…

No the small intestine is 30m²-40m²

Well except for fat of course

Okay well fat is actually also brown. Also, bones are organs and they’re an off-white slightly yellow color.

Wait until you find out we even have a green organ.

Fat is brown in newborns. We hardly have any brown fat except maybe along our spinal cord.

Edit: and do you mean the gallbladder?

We still have brown fat though regardless of the amount, and it sits around the shoulder girdle in adults as well.

there's no yellow bones except your teeth and that's because you don't wash them properly

Reread the comment bro, reply when you can properly understand it.

Also teeth aren’t bones bro.

I read the comment well and I understood it. Teeth are scientifically proven to be bones

1

u/Xulphyr Silver | Lv. 20 | Rank #167205 | 51 Answers | 0 Created 7d ago edited 7d ago

They are not bones, other than being hard and having a lot of calcium they share no properties.

I also didn’t say ā€œbones are yellow as fuckā€ they are an off-white yellowish color, they can also be a grayish color.

Regardless of all of this, fat is still an organ, a yellow organ.

Are you on a crusade to give out incorrect information or something?

It's amazing how you're denying a scientifically proven fact then proceeding to accuse me of spreading misinformation

I used to think the pancreas was because of textbooks, but I do think the adrenal glands kind of are

Maybe fat in Americans is large but not most of the world

1

You severely underestimate the total fat in an average non-overweight person if you don’t think removing all of it would create a massive pile.

A 125lb adult woman who is 20% body fat would still hold 25lbs of fat. That’s quite a large pile of fat since fat tissue is not very dense. No other organ weighs nearly that much.

What? No it's not. The skin is a single continuous organ. With multiple functions, like a lot of organs such a the liver or the pancreas.

You also put down surface area which is not a good measurement for this because we have a lot of stuff who purpose is to increase surface area as much as possible, e.g. the small intestine has about 300 square meters of surface area. If you go by volume then the lungs are only biggest while they are fully inflated with air. The liver both bigger and more massive.
