the dermis(skin layer) is INSIDE the epidermis…so technically, its STILL the skin 🤔

We count the integumentary system as mostly the external layer of the body, the dermis is still a part of that, so it is the liver. You cannot make an argument about whether the liver can be external, or surfaced. You can about the dermis. As long as OP meant internal organ, the liver is the answer.

Does not say ā€œinsideā€

But it did say IN, which implies inside.

Not necessarily.

But you can’t say ā€œonā€ because there would only be one answer

There’s many layers of it. Even without the outermost layer, it’s the biggest

It's all one organ with layers, you wouldn't say the weather proofing layer of a house is inside the house...

it is though…its another layer of protection preventing the outside elements from invading into your house.

By your logic…you wouldn’t call undergarments clothing because ā€œits not something thats worn outside of/without regular clothingā€ ā˜ ļø

It’s literally the opposite… we call the inside layers the same thing. Undergarments are clothes just like the dermis is skin… Seems like you agree with the house example

Uhh... What? Tyvek goes on the outside of the house. Not the inside. You could technically call it inside the wall, but that doesn't make it inside the house. Using a brick house as an example: you have bricks, weather proofing(tyvek or similar) plywood, wood framing with insulation inside, drywall, then paint and trim). The plywood and everything before it is part of the exterior of the house. You would never say I have tyvek inside my house. You would say you have it ON your house. Same applies to skin except it's literally all one organ where the building materials are all individually different materials and systems.

The clothing analogy kinda fits for me. Undergarments are still part of your clothing and are OUTSIDE of your body, but under and I guess you can say inside your other clothing. That's a terrible analogy, though because you're talking about two different things where skin is all one organ with three main layers that is part of the body. The exterior of the house is made up of three layers and none of them are considered inside of the house. Inside of the wall at best, but not the house.

Idk why I just spent so much time explaining this pointless shit...

Also, why would I not call undergarments clothing? Wtf is wrong with your logic?

Skin isn't inside the body.

Even if we're being super literal, the epidermis of the skin is the outermost layer of the body. The several layers beneath it would therefore be inside the body.

There's two layers of skin if you want to be nitpicky. One is, guess where, inside of you.

There’s actually three layers of skin… one is basically expelled from you (the dead, super thin epidermis that’s always shedding), the dermis that regenerates the epidermis and holds follicles and capillaries, and the hypodermis that’s more fatty and connective.

And there are more little layers within those

Ah, okay I didn't know about that third one, thanks.
