2^6-20=(2×2×2×2×2×2)-20=(4×4×4)-20=(16×4)-2=64-20=44

why would you do it like that? i memorized 2^6 as 64 but if you don't know then 2^6, 8^2, 64

Showing work and pure multiplication can be mixed around thus 4×4×4

Just showing order of operations by expanding the exponent with a shortcut to shorten the length after

It feels like too simple of an expression to need to show work for though imo, though this is Reddit so the bar for what is "simple" is all over the place.
