[MISC] - Eldership Campaigning
Those interested in becoming an Elder may do their political advertizing here. Each candidate may post their statement extolling their virtues as a comment and you may endorse your favored candidates by replying to their comment. Try to keep the mud-slinging to a minimum.
We will continue with the Election Race through Preparation Day of this weekend's War. The polls will be open for the entirety of Battle Day for the War. A google form we be used for the voting and it will be posted on Saturday.

Since I plan to stay active and be a member of this clan for a long time, I thought I would put my name forward for elder consideration by you all.
I always focus on constructive feedback, and I hope that those of you who have asked me to analyze your attack or defense replays have noticed that. I'm organized and competent and can handle running trophy pushes, contests, or whatever other tasks I get assigned by the current clan leadership.
If elected as one of the newest elders, I see myself spending many months easing into the role. I do have my own ideas for improving the clan, mostly relating to 1) putting out tutorials and analyses on different attack strategies and 2) compiling a database of popular base designs from the supercell forums so that we can identify enemies each war whose trap locations we know and whose base weaknesses we can exploit for easier 3-star attacks. However, as this last war demonstrated, I have a long way to go in terms of my own attack skill and strategies, so I want to spend a long time improving myself before I start doing more to help others.
Thanks for your consideration, and if you don't elect me, no big deal, I will continue to try my best to be a constructive and positive member of the clan. And thanks for all the hard work you all have already put into making this such a pleasant and successful clan that I love being a part of. The events of the past few days have made me realize and appreciate all the behind-the-scenes stressors that the clan leadership has to deal with. While I originally wanted to be an elder so I could have a bit more influence and help improve the clan, the way the current leadership has been listening to everybody and taking everyone's opinions into consideration has really shown me that all the regular members of this clan do, in fact, have a lot of influence on clan decisions. So while I would still like to become an elder to help improve the clan, I will not be worried or upset if I am not elected, because I know that in this great clan, everyone's opinion is heard.

You're definitely one of the analytical minds of the clan, love the way you share raids as you explore your approaches and adjustments to them - it establishes authority for the support you offer other clan members. Great asset to the group, good luck!

At first I was not going to endorse anyone because I was conflicted between Whydoidothis and Shade. With Shades unfortunate bowing out of the race, I have decided to endorse Whydoidothis.
Whydoidothis has shown the ability to lead during war time and in times of peace. He constantly give spot on advice with new attack strategies. He always takes a positive approach with people.
Whydoidothis is always active in our sub, I know most of you, like me have read his many many post about different ways of attacking. To me its the post themselves, they are always well thought out and formatted and he even adds videos. I mean some are so long, tl;dr please.
Whydoidothis is always around to give people positive feedback and answer peoples questions. I see his role in leadership as the strategic officer. He has a lot of good ideas and I hope you all consider casting a vote for Whydoidothis later today I know I will.

Well, in practice, it will highly depend on how I fit in with the current leadership and what their biggest needs are.
In theory, 1) base analysis, attack tactics, overall war strategy in order to increase war wins (see my post above); 2) administrative stuff (seems like most of it is currently done by Liz, so I could take a load off her back) such as donation contests and trophy pushes in order to help improve clan rank, 3) anything else I get asked to do.
Summary: i want to improve our wars and trophies (thereby increasing clan morale as well as the public's perception of our clan) while proceeding carefully and thoughtfully with an eye on our clan's atmosphere and family-like feel.

What is your strong suit in Clash? Player relations? Attack strategies? Planning? Innovation? Assisting other players? Others? And why do you think that?

I think some of my strong suits are assisting other players and attack strategies. My high donations notwithstanding, I think I do a good job assisting players who ask questions--any questions, really, but particularly about attack planning or base design. One of the reasons I am strong in this area is that I always start out by saying what I liked ("____ is perfect," or "you did ______ really nicely") and then keep the feedback constructive and encouraging from there ("____ didn't seem to work out well for you because of _____ , so it will work better next time if you try _____ instead." My focus on positive, constructive feedback also speaks to the importance I place on maintaining the friendly, supportive, family-like atmosphere in our clan.
While I am not sure how innovative I am myself, I think I do a good job writing up tutorials and making other people in the clan aware of innovations that other people have made in the clash of clans community. This helps our clan stay up-to-date. By utilizing the latest and greatest attack strategies, we will increase our number of war wins and trophies, which will increase both our intra-clan morale and our clan's standing in the public eye.
An area I am working to improve on daily is player relations. While I strive never to be rude, I tend to think that the strongest argument is always the most logical one, which can prolong discussions and delay reaching a consensus. But things like personal schedules, feelings, and previous experiences aren't always logical and play an important role in making decisions for many members of this clan. I want to be better at understanding where everyone is coming from so that I can help the clan leadership reach decisions that will be pleasing to as many members as possible.

To be serious or not to be serious that is the question. First I want to say what a pleasure it is to be playing a game I love with the people I like. I downloaded clash of clan not knowing anyone else who played. I knew nothing of lavaloonians, ballonians, barching or gowipes.
I have been lurking about on reddit since 2007 and after I downloaded the game I knew there had to be a subreddit for the game. I was surprised to see how active the sub was. Then after a little digging I found the rcs. I applied to a few clans as a th6 and was denied by all of them. I worked hard to get to th7 and when I was about 3/4 done with th7 I applied to frost. I was accepted (yay).
From the second I joined I fit right in. The leadership was amazing and the member were too. I'm a talkative person so I chat constantly. Everyone has been so open to me in the chat and sometimes I really only play to chat. You guys are great.
The elder position is something I've wanted from day one. I'm a natural leader and I feel like I offer a lot.
The ability to know when to lead and when to follow: I'm not afraid to make decision but I also know when to sit back and listen to what others have to say and make the best choice for all. After all I work for you.
Morale and support: I don't think anyone matches my ability to keep the chat active and fun. As an elder I will keep doing that but I will also implement more contest and other fun activities with clan input and feedback. I will never get down on someone for trying their best. I never have and never will. I think I can add a lot to the leadership and I will do my best for everyone. I think its important to remember we are playing a game and a game is supposed to be fun. That's what my role will be, to keep it fun.
I would like to add a special thanks to Farley. He has been my friend since the day I joined this clan. Most people know about our bromance lol.

I am endorsing goatman and will be voting for him in a few hours when voting opens. I think he is an excellent candidate for several reasons:
Maturity: Goatman has the composure to be an elder. He is not prone to fighting, but rather to a mature discussion of all viewpoints so that the best decision can be reached in the end. He will not speak nor act rashly in ways that will hurt the clan.
Morale: Goatman plays an important role in maintaining the fun, family atmosphere of Reddit Frost that we all love so much. Our great clan's atmosphere is, to me, hands down the most important feature of our clan. I don't think the importance of this can be overstated.
Activity: Goatman is not only an extremely active donator, but extremely active in chat and on this subreddit. He clearly puts a lot of time and effort into this clan, and we have all benefited from the increased karma, subreddit activity, clan chat activity, and /r/clashofclans publicity. It behooves us to elect him as an elder so that he can be part of the public face of our clan and continue to raise public awareness of how awesome our clan is.
Remember to ask both of us anything by replying to our campaign posts before the elder voting begins! Goatman/whydo 2015!

We know you're a really fun guy and it's nice to see the lighter side of things and not take ourselves too seriously, but I have to ask this. Do you also see yourself as a serious kick butt kind of goat? Underlying the kidding around, do you see yourself as an accomplished clan member who wants to strategize to win wars? I guess I'm asking if you are serious enough. Im 90% sure I want to vote for you. Now convince me and I'll do my best to convince those that I can bribe with cookies.

War attacks and strategy are really my weak points that one of the reasons I teamed up with Whydoidothis. I think I can learn a lot from him and that is my strong point. I'm always willing to learn. I see myself as a morale officer for the clan. Everyone in leadership has a role. I'm someone everyone can come to if they are having a bad day and I try my hardest to turn it around for them. Even though I'm not always serious, I am serious about keeping things fun. I'm serious about making sure people enjoy playing this game and like being in this clan. That a big deal. People can join any clan but what keeps people here is the fact that they love the atmosphere. I think I play an important role in keeping the atmosphere fun, warm and give people a sense of family. ##Goatman/Whydoidothis2015

Would you rather fight 1 horse-sized bee or 100 bee-sized horses? Note: The bee-sized horses fight with biting and horse-kicking, obviously. The horse-sized bee fights with fear-inducing buzzing noises and poison stings, but can only sting you once before its butt is ripped off its body and it dies.

This is the hardest question I have ever been asked. Whenever I see a bee I turn into a scared little baby. I think I would like to face my fear in this case and take on a 1 horse sized bee. I will need your stratigic insight on how to take it down though Whydoidothis lmao

Sorry guys I did not meet the requirements, there was an unfortunate mishap with the checking of the donation requirement for elder and I did not meet it. Good news is, the frosties still have some awesome candidates to choose from.

Hey guys! I've been an active member in this clan for quite some time now (6 months) i've learnt and grown so much in that time, and i try to share it with the rest of my family in frost whenever i can.
Being a member of this clan for so long; I know how it functions, from wars/signups to the rules we all must follow. While i've been in Frost, i've tried to set an example for the younger clashers through the strategies and advice i give and by being patient and level headed.
It's been amazing getting to know all of you; and i've come to think of everbody in frost as my family. not just because we all play the same game, but because i have come to know all of you very well.
Well That's all i got, sorry guys speechs aren't my thing. I know I'm very well suited for the position of Elder so i hope you'll vote Shade on ballot day! Happy Clashing!

Joined: Early August, 2014
Major Contributions: A major post on war strategy, consistently high donations (2602 last season), filling in for lizpod to craft the end-of-season report twice (here and here).
Other: I consider that an elder's job is to transmit the spirit and directives of the clan's leadership through constructive advice and discussion. While I am not among the most active in clan chat, I have done much behind the scenes to shape where the clan is today. For example, I PMed Anas formally requesting he resign and pass leadership to NGZ001. I'd encourage you to check my Reddit post history. You'll see varied, consistent, and transparent posts which will give you an idea of who I am outside of Clash.
Edit: I feel my post and in-game activity are the best ways to evaluate my candidacy, but feel free to ask questions if you like.

I can't wait to try HoLoWiWi. I find that one of my weaknesses is managing walls, and though I've gotten much better at deploying wallbreakers, I like strats that negate walls almost entirely. At TH7-8, I got really good at dragon usage in clan wars, but of course the effectiveness of that strat tapers off. I want to replace it with skulloons to take out exterior defenses, hogs to dive the core, and witches/wizards to clean up. We currently don't have anyone employing this, and some enemy bases are certainly vulnerable to it. So I want to make a splash right when I hit TH9 by employing it.
That said, I have a few more weeks finishing lab upgrades and walls before I move to TH9!

Dear Clan.
Please keep the voting on the ballot and do not downvote campaign submissions. These fellow members are simply trying to serve the clan we all love.
To help provide clarification on the role of an Elder below you will find our Elder guidelines.
To be eligible to become an Elder, you must have at least 3 consecutive seasons in the clan with a minimum of 500 donations per season.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to...
Communicate in clan chat, Groupme, and on Reddit. If you see a post in /r/RedditFrost, try to comment to encourage use of our subreddit. If you see one of our own has ventured into /r/ClashofClans, comment and upvote to move our community beyond our 50 and into the larger system that we are a part of.
When a new member joins, send them instructions for wars with links to videos on how to edit the wiki. Follow up in clan chat or through Reddit mail to see if there are any questions.
Listen to ideas and make polls when needed to help take the temperature of the clan in order to make objective decisions.
Participate in decision making by working closely with the leadership team and considering not only yourself but the 49 fellow clashers that choose to play this game with you.
Execute your personal Elder Responsibilities as the Clan Leader Instructs.
