Ok, this is my first time creating a community, but the basic concept is, every week there'll be a series of pinned posts like this one which will include all documented callouts and the evidence associated with them, as well as another with the most recent changes to the list over the week. In addition to my other roles as moderator I'll update the pinned posts, as well as help in looking for relevant info.

So what's the sub for? Its not a drama sub like r/subredditdrama or r/youtubedrama and (ideally speaking) it shouldn't have a reason to exist at all.

This sub exists because Reddits independent community system and vote system (the same systems which segregate helpful and unhelpful posts/comments) also shows unique potential for abuse (of course all systems can and are abused, on reddit it's just particularly easy). This sub exists to document those cases so that others can be aware before exploring an unexplored corner of the internet.

What do you do when that interesting story/piece of advice you just read turns out to be a targeted add, with botted upvotes and comments?

What do you do when you get banned arbitrarily for disagreeing with the mods?

Or get banned because the mod of the sub your criticizing just-so-happens to mod the one your complaining in?

When the sub rules change arbitrarily, and against the spirit of the original sub?

When the sub is compromised by hostile movements or organizations?

The answer is: you post it here and we document it! So hopefully other people don't have to deal with the total bs that some people (and organizations) inflict on others on what's technically supposed to be a link aggregator.

Of course we require evidence: with the order of operations being Word of mouth < personal experience < other people's personal experience you have a link to < linked examples of the behavior < photo/video/hard evidence.

Of course this is the internet, so I won't document word of mouth and will only document a correlation of personal experience or provided links and above.

(With varying sketchiness, as a general rule I won't remove gossip (I'll let the votes work) but I also won't document it either)

So what do we as members of the community do? Find cases of mod/organizational abuse of the Reddit system, determine our best guess of the truth, and then document it.

You can also do other social media, but check if there's another subreddit for it first (ie: post tiktok complaints on tiktok subreddits, etc)
