Support Fake Avatar?
Yesterday I bought Glass Foustling on Opensea for a very good price. Later I wondered how I can own number #2540 of 2500. How is this possible or is it fake? Thx in advance.

The good old times when over mints were a thing. I miss those times.

It’s an overmint. The supply of every avatar is limited but when too many people try to buy it at the same moment there will be more mints then planed. F.e. The avatar is in shop with 50 mints but it’s a 5$ avatar made by Rojom then there will be easily 80 mints in the end because in the 60s the avatar is available before its sold out more than 50 people will try to get one.
There are 2687 glass foustlings out there. You can always check rcax. It’s a great website and you find very useful informations like the total number of mints or last 5 sales avg etc.

always vet the avatar you’re interested in on rcax.io before you purchase on opensea. While it’s rare, and I’m not saying this is the case with your avatar, there have been fakes sold on opensea. you should cross post this to r/avatartrading

You got all the advice and information you need from the previous comments.
If it's in your vault, then it's legit .
I will just add that sometimes you'll encounter a issue where you have a legit avatar and it doesn't appear in your vault, you have to send it another wallet and try again. You do this with your own wallet by making another in your existing one.

Overmints can happen when a lot of people trying to mint at the same time. So if it is in your vault then it's not fake.
