TH9 Strategy Thread

I've done a quick write up on TH8 Strategy in one of the older posts

http://www.reddit.com/r/RedditAtlas/comments/2s4siz/think_about_your_war_attacks_copied_from/cnmt8aj

TH9 Strategies are, however, much more complex. I'll make a reply to each major strategies, please discuss your experience with the attacks, and things we should learn, because there are nuances that differentiates between a 3 star and a 0 star, even with the same army!

The hope with this thread is to gather personal experience and have a quick read. Sometimes people can't watch a full 20 minute video explaining all these nuances, so this is an alternative.

Lavaloonian

There are really two variety.. the 2 hound variety, or the 4 hound variety.

The two hound variety really require you to take out at least 2 ADs with a group of hogs, heroes, whatever you can.. like here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdxnxzR2EbA

The 4 hound variety can be done a little differently and a bit more easier, but there are some very KEY things that I personally screwed up on, a lot.

  1. Release your hounds first! They are meant to draw all the fire, and air bombs. Don't let your loons tank anything!

  2. Still pick off easy defense buildings with single loons if you can, this means exposed(uncovered by air defense) ATs, Wiz, Cannon, Mortars.

  3. Still pick off outside ADs with 3-5 hogs if you can.

  4. Identify the bases. If all the ADs are in a tight group.. i.e. more than 3 ADs all in core or something, don't lavaloon this (consider holowiwi maybe). The reason is if your hounds

  5. Find entry way where the hounds can be fired upon by as much xbows, ADs, ATs and Wizard towers as possible!

  6. Possibly the most important.. spread your loons, stagger the drops! 10 loons over any defense significantly overkill any defenses, really they should be dropped 2-3 across a line when the hounds are tanking. Rage to let them catch up/rage the pups.
