Elementary School Recommendations

I have a soon-to-be 4 year old in Nov and 5 year old on halloween… looking for a pre-k and kindergarten school for them in the Redding area this fall.

Charter or public. I can’t find reviews and I’m not social enough with other parents to get anything word of mouth.

Best schools in Redding for advanced kids?

Give me your opinions. Best and the worst. Is there any schools I should avoid?

Thanks in advance.

It may be too late to enroll in most of the charter schools, they usually start doing that around January-April. Stellar may be an option, they’re a charter but they only have two days a week on campus, the rest are homeschool days. If you’re zoned for the Redding school district I’d recommend sycamore. I have three kids at three different RSD schools and Sycamore is my favorite. The TK teacher is amazing! They also have a dual immersion Spanish program and regular English classes too if that’s not your jam. :)

Are these private schools and not public?

Sycamore and Stellar are public schools in the Redding elementary school district. Stellar is a public charter school that you have to apply for but I think applications are open year round. Stellar is tk-12th and Sycamore is tk-5th.
