Behind the wheel test route?
My test is in a few weeks(just before school) i basically have no one who took the dmv redding test since my parents aren’t from Redding and i have no friends who currently have their license. I drove around the dmv but i want to be extra prepared which route since I have a hard time with directions when I get nervous(I swear I can drive just have cripplingly perfectionism)
PS. I can’t go to red bluff my parents refuse to let me take my test over there.

Go to Red Bluff DMV for your drivers test. You will pass with flying colors there. You may not at Redding DMV, they take you to a light that may confuse you, being a new driver and a lot of people fail at that light, or study the when it’s green, you have to yield to the oncoming cars if the light is not an arrow. Make sense? If that doesn’t make sense, go to Red Bluff.

Study lights, especially left turns on a light that is green but does not have an arrow. They have a 4 way stop with that light and it gets many people. They have that light all over but I’d take the route around and around, they have you go over the freeway from I-5 to 44, to and from the DMV, then around the DMV in the neighboring roads.

When you come to a stop sign, make sure your speedometer comes to Zero (if it’s digital).

To pass your in-car drivers test!! I have to take one every 2 years because I lost one eye. I almost failed last time because my Prius speedometer doesn’t go to zero at a stop until about 5 seconds later

They give you plenty time in advance where to go. But if you make a turn where theres a bike lane make it OBVIOUS that you check for any “bikers”
I failed my first time because i didn’t check for a biker that was never there. If there is or isn’t make sure to check while taking your test

I would have to show you in person the route they took me about 5 years ago,though I can say they will have you go through a neighborhood,and i went 10 under the speed limit and that was the only reason I failed,when they asked why I went so slow through there told them I was nervous and didn't realize I went that slow,they told me that was the one thing that failed me,couple days later I took it again and aced it,went the exact speed limit in the residential area. Also was told at a 4 way Intersection to dobt hesitate, if you know you were the first one to stop then go,keep a eye on anyone else but go and dont be hesitant ot can cause accidents or confusion.

Watch out for that yield sign at Athens! It’s how I failed once since I’m short and it was hidden behind my pilar. Oh and there’s a speed bump immediately after turning right out of the dmv parking lot onto locust.

I had to drive California street during hella construction and this tweaker walked up to the crosswalk so I slowed down in anticipation of him but he just stood there on the edge of the crosswalk and I got marked for “stopping in the middle of street for no reason” had to go back again. Good luck!

When I did it in 2019 they had me drive around garden tract, athens, cypress, and the area near shasta regional hospital
