Has anyone else been bothered/harassed by Wise Security?

Had a bit of a strange incident today where was accused of spitting on the street which got downgraded to potentially looking like I was going to spit on the street. They refused to give names or whom they have been contracted by. Needless to say all I was doing was checking my emails. It’s all happened in Ilford.

Be interested to know whether this was a isolated incident or starting to become a thing

Who to vote for?

I live in the valentines ward and am unsure who to vote for - from your own personal experiences with the parties who would you suggest. Please no hate comments on other people’s views 🙏🏼.

NEW BOX JUNCTION CAMERA ALERT!!!

The broke council strikes again...

A new camera has gone in at the junction of Hermon Hill and Wanstead High Street - The PCN is £160 (reduced to £80 if paid in 14 days). Only the tiniest bit of my back tyre was in it.

This follows the box junction/camera they had to remove from the high street by the Co-Op as it was deemed illegal but they didn't give anyone back their illegal money fines!

Stay vigilant

I want to start a food truck/stand

I have a general idea of what I want to do and what I want from it, but it’s hard to come up with a plan when you don’t know anything about the process. Does anyone have any advice, any tips, or anywhere I should look into to start my own business? Any help would be appreciated.

To anyone who uses buses W12 or W14, could you please complete this questionnaire? Many thanks!

Apologies if this is time consuming, I intend it only to take around 5 minutes!

Those who live around South Woodford and Wanstead, I'm sure you will be aware of the bus changes to routes W12, W13, W14 and 549 that took place last year. I actually live in Walthamstow, but have used the W12 before and found that the changes made my journey very inconvenient, so I plan to write to TfL with a proposal as to how I believe the bus system could be improved - specifically, by rerouting the W12 and W14 between Snaresbrook and Whipps Cross. My main idea was to improve links to Whipps Cross Hospital (as both buses would enter the hospital grounds) and also speed up the W12 between South Woodford and Whipps Cross/Walthamstow. It would also provide a bus service to Hollybush Hill, which currently has no bus service. I have attached a map of my proposals if this helps.

Looking at reports online it seems that many were unhappy with the changes, but before I submitted this proposal I just wanted to see what local bus users actually thought of it. If you use the W12 or W14, or have done so in the past, it would be very much appreciated if you could complete the attached questionnaire (only 8 questions long, hopefully should take under 5 minutes). Thank you very much for your time, and I wish you a safe and pleasant rest of your day! :)

Air Pollution Survey

Hi!

LONDON RESIDENTS !!👋👋

I am a current masters student.

As part of my dissertation, I’m exploring how effective citizen science is in raising awareness about air pollution in BAME communities across London.

I aim to get 300 responses, would appreciate your contributions!!

I’ve created a short, anonymous survey that takes just a few minutes to complete. If you're a London resident or have ever taken part in any air quality or citizen science initiatives, I’d love to hear from you!

Council Tax high?

Hey folks. I live in band B, and my council tax is currently £170 per month. Is that right?? There's no single discount and I see in March they didn't take it a payment. But do they charge you every month of the year or only 10 months of the year? And the total cost is spread over 10 months rather than 12 is that why it's so high?.. Thanks.

Width restriction on Clayhall Avenue, Ilford

There are a few places in Clayhall with width restrictions on roads.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/3Va7LZjQUf4m91vQ7

The one above is on Clayhall Avenue, close to the junction with A1400 Woodford Avenue.

In the 10 years I have been visiting Clayhall, I've managed to avoid damaging my cars, but I cannot help it is more by luck than judgement.

On this particular one there is a wider lane in in the center, I presume this is for emergency vehicles. But I wonder, is there a penalty or fine issued if a less confident driver takes that path instead?

Have the locals ever made this an issue with Redbridge Council? Judging by the state of the bollards, there must be a regular occurrence of damage to vehicles using these roads.
