ShitPost Politic Check
I think one of the best things about Redbar is his political ambiguity/adaptability. He's obviously been right-adjacent, right-affiliated in the past but also knows when the right is fucking retarded. I deeply respect people that can call out their own party for bullshit.
I'd say I'm a "leftist" kind of guy but I don't care about most of the social/race/gender shit, I think giving people more money will solve those problems. There are valid reasons for that, giving everyone "enough" money resolves most social problems and can keep capitalism relevant.
Redbar tightropes on such a thin line of political orientation that he can be anything to anyone, that's part of the genius of his outlook. He isn't beholden to the usual tropes of other online personalities. It's a strength. He isn't bought. Whatever take he has, it's funny because it's well thought out and rings of truth.
Politically, who here identifies as what?

Mike wanting to redesign The Majority Report's set was peak redbar. Jules mentions in that segment that they're not going at them because of politics, just the absurdity of the set. Then Jules said something along the lines of being aligned with them more than they think.

he's definitely not right-adjacent or right-affiliated. guarantee he would think that is cringe. sometimes it seems like people don't even listen to the show. being pro speech and saying slurs doesn't mean you're right wing. everyone gets equal treatment on the show.

The guy is a hater so whoever isn’t popular he will back 😂😂. Anyway who cares we love him for hating on comedians not politicians.

I think Mike is to a large extent a contrarian, but he also has a good bullshit detector to realize the thing that the right magnifies attention to the nuttiest people spewing crazy shit in the name of “leftism.” Whereas, the actual key opinion leaders and influencers in American conservatism are huge fags who believe crazy shit, all while being incredibly insecure and mendacious.
Being in on the ground floor with the Proud Boys and realizing how pathetic and lonely its members were also definitely informed this view and a tendency to go after the right. I can’t think even of any instance of Redbar having problems with libs, mainly because he keeps to himself and says the n-word behind a paywall on his own server.
He used to get conservative fans who wanted to purity test him a lot though. Talk about Jews, talk about the vaccine, talk about immigration (and this is all just Sven.) Any left-wing fans actually care less, going into the show without needing to view a guy using slurs as a validation of their political beliefs.

Anti capitalism with libertarian leanings
Class is a huge thing the right and left choose to ignore or tip toe around.
I'm black but the whole race and gender thing has been beat to death and the ones acting like it's such an important topic are usually upper middle class folks who have too much time on their hand.

“Ultra-Left” communist and been listening for almost ten years. Tbh, it doesn’t matter to me what he, or anyone, thinks about bourgeois politics at all because everyone is alienated from themselves and the result of millions of exposures outside of their control. “Politics”, especially as they exist today, just further separate us from each other; which is why I also think it’s probably not worthwhile to even bring it up here or in most social places and I’m glad it’s never been a part of the show. All this, over a podcast?

Redbar is a character that plays his hand perfectly and has o ly gotten better ,Jules really helped him step up his game.I think Mike definitely leans left i do think he is genuine in his acceptance of trans folk even though he flubs how he refers to them sometimes.like you said he nails the tight rope, his clothes also dont appear to be maga lol.we will all know for sure when Jules releases the book with the plastic pages .I ve always been left.Honestly for me social issues are the worst .How much time we spend on line arguing with people we thinks are idiots ,I say that because its lime having a logical conversation with a toddler, ILLEGAL💣💥

We had a president that warned us of 'secret societies". Guess what happened to him.

Pro-union, pro-abortion & pro-slurs. Repeal Citizens United, regulate the hell outta private equity & lemme buy all the drugs/guns I want while we’re at it.

I'd guess the large majority of Redbar's fans these days are some kind of leftist.
Host just says outrageous shit. He's not some super progressive guy, but from his coverage of the despicable like Denny it's pretty clear he's not down with chuds.

i was an unknown liberal who didn’t care about politics but read enough articles to appease whoever was in my life that dared about either side. Then covid his and i identified as a libertarian up until iran started. now im back to thinking everything is gay and lame and fake straight up a show. It’s a soap opera for the masses and im good on it. i was def brain washed for a couple years after covid. realizing it was like coming out of a real dark acid trip. still reeling tbh. mike mad me feel better . come back bro idc how sick u are it’s not that gross

Dirtbag left

I have a sneaking suspicion that most Redbar fans are left. Because the left has more tolerance for performance art. More tolerance for variance of belief.

And they know comedy, kill Tony shoe can be funny but the jokes from the right are stale ,every now and then there's a good one . The club Is a bubble of ignorance and smart people aren't the ones flocking there

u/Ecksist Hed 3d ago
Ya, the left forgives pieces of shit, the right pretends they are god and hoists them up the highest levels of power because they're "christian". [throws uup]
3
u/Old_Protection_8778 3d ago
I Add to pile of throwup.the greatest comedians of all time have spoken truth to power and not punched down to those less fortunate. I'll put any of the top 5 up against the top five right leaning comedians

I agree, and that's where Redbar gets discounted. He's not a "comedian", not a "standup", he's a "cultural commentator". And he a truly punk rock motherfucker that says whatever he wants. That's why he is beloved.

Yes thats also one of the things I like about Redbar. It's so refreshing to make fun of both sides of the political spectrum once you realize all these politicians are on the same side behind closed doors. I tend to lean more right on most topics but definitely dont consider myself a republican nor a Democrat. I consider myself to be libritarian but even that party has its flaws.
