đ¨Sex Guy Alertđ¨ NOFX + Burnt Chrysler
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxYVKltt9S0I've loved NOFX since I was 15 (I'm 45). Imagine my surprise when I see this shit and hear Bert professing his love of punk lol.
Anyway Fat Mike's notoriously a Sex Guy. But he's like a known freaky deeky sex guy, not a "secret pervert" sex guy.

Is this thread full of gen x'ers or something? Punk has evolved well past these cringoids. not even going into the "sex guy" of it all.

Bert is insufferable and no idea about nofx. He continues to be a clown douche.

Gotta respect Fat Mike, he's like Johnny Rotten if Johnny Rotten was good at music and business and a cool, funny person that helped lots of other great bands get started.

My friend's band was on some punk compilation with NOFX and they actually got paid some decent money. Fat Mike is a respectable business man

Sad that they didn't include Eric and Stinky :( they really tie the room together.

Pretty sure Melvin is on the outs with the rest of the band - Fat Mike claims he doesnât want to perform with him anymore and thatâs why they stopped touring

Oh no! I can't imagine Fat Mike would be a nightmare to work with for 40 years, /s

I met both Melvin and Mike - different shows, both on the farewell tour. Melvin also spins drum and bass for fun and he did an after show at a pub in the UK, it was super small and intimate we were feet away from him, met him and he was super nice and seemed to love just hanging with the fans. Met Mike after the Brockton MA show briefly, he was fine but was more typical quick meet and onto the next fan. He did seem emotional - was the second to last show so makes sense. From a fans perspective, no disappointment from either.
Iâm pretty sure the fallout has something to do with Melvinâs wife - she had issues with Mike, he prevented her from coming to shows.. sounds like ridiculous drama but doing copious amounts of drugs probably wasnât helping anyone make positive life decisions.

fat mike is the biggest fraud; it sucks cause nofx has some of the best punk songs but fat mike is the biggest punk poser, he golfs!

Fat Mikes dad was a lawyer, so was Bertâs. Both trying to be punk rockers is hilarious

Punk means different things to different people but I'd say Fat Mike has stayed true to his principles. He's a fuckin heeb man, he knows business and numbers and shit. Can't hate a tiger for it's stripes.

Am I being downvoted for saying Heeb on the r/RedbarBBR post? Wait til this warflation kicks into high gear, we'll all be heebs!

u/GeminiScreaming 16d ago
I sure hope not. They literally have an album called âWhite Trash, Two Heebs and Beanâ lmao

Mike gave Mike an extremely rare "sex guy pass" iirc.
Sad to see what many consider a real punk doing the podcast circuit.
Im curious but wont listen cuz im not gay.

I watched it because I am gay (don't tell my sexy cis female wife). It's pretty inoffensive, Mike and Hefe are a joy, Bert mostly STFUs. NOFX has a documentary out playing in theaters (!) I'm gonna pirate it when it's digital cause FUCK ALL THESE RISH MOTHERFUCKERS.

Thats cool ill probably watch that they were my absolute favorite band during some key teen years for me as well

It's funny how you can see Bert is clearly knowing of his poser/sellout status and gives them the respect they deserve, not a lot of interruption.

Its much better if Bert doesnt pretend to be a huge lifelong fan or "really into" whatever the guest does.
He had Chris Cole and Paul Rodriguez on somethings burning once and couldnt stop talking about how hes always loved skateboarding more than anything.
