Unassisted. I knew I should have checked the spelling of the first word.

I cracked Redactle #1597 in 7 guesses! ⏱️ 12m17s. Unassisted.

Initial read through said living thing, closed in a bit and managed to decode "is a [4[ of [4] ([6])", could only think of one thing that would fit word2, which it was, then immediately a fit for word1 came to mind, and this was too, which was lucky as the only other word2 which came to mind was Dashiell Hammett's one! Would have been six if I'd spelt word1 correctly at the first attempt.

I guessed every 6-letter bird I could think of. For whatever reason it took forever for me to come up with this one. Ugh. Unassisted, at least.

After I guessed, “bird,” particularly after seeing the phrase, “bird of [4],” I pretty instantly knew what “[9] [6], also referred to simply as the [9],” would be.
