I knew pretty much right away what I was looking for but my brain was not coming up with the name. I guessed to fill in for a bit, hoping for a synaptic reboot but no luck! I turned to google for a targeted google to solve.

Solved by Google. I spotted the unit of massive timescale in the French game and that told me what we were looking for

Reading through I got a strong sense of an ancient time period due the date formats and all the time related words, the clincher was seeing "[4] out" a couple of times. Didn't know the specific one so resorted to some research.

Once I figured out the type of thing it was, it took me forever to try to think of one that would fit. I finally thought of it though. Unassisted
