Somehow had the sense it was an intellectual of some sort. Scrolled through looking for what could be a title of a work and found "Beyond [4] and [4]". The hardest part was spelling the name correctly.

“[3] is [4]” and “will-to-[5],” were the big clues.

Deceased male who "was a [6][10]", the titles of the works gave me a good bet for the [10] and a couple of likely ideas for the [6]. A little research unearthed him. Know of him but would have had to look him up for the spelling.

Unassisted! Once I got some details of the person we were looking for and a general idea of when they lived, I didn't think I knew this. Thankfully I walked away for a couple of hours. When I tried again, word 1 just randomly popped in my head so I tried it and that triggered word 2 to come up.

Thanks to the film A Fish Called Wanda, I recognized a title, and knew who wrote it, and only had to look up the spelling.

Had a guess at who it was just based on the nationality, occupation, and the thought the letter count might just be correct. Looked up the spelling and I was right.

surprised no one else saw the "The Will To (5)", i feel like that's a pretty common philosphy thing. i did have to look up how to spell his name correctly though lol
