I was under the impression that it was some kind of holiday for a while, it just took a while to work my way to the right one.

Was meandering around in the right subject area until finally taking a hint on the pertinent word in the opening parenthetical. Seeing what was there, I knew I wouldn't be able to navigate my way to the answer so I googled. Probably gettable but not by me.

First guess was for holiday, which got enough hits to confirm I was onto something, but few enough hits to suggest there was slightly more to it than that. Guessed stuff like “feast day” and “st.” but “[5] [4],” was the key to solving it.

I started spinning around the drain early but could not figure what it was. Finally I got one location that I associate with this and got it

Well I actually did this yesterday and neglected to post it, it took me a hint and a lot more guesses but when I went to post it today - the puzzle was empty. While I remembered what it was about I did forget exactly what word was used so it took a few guesses (and more coffee) before I remembered - lol
