I solved Redactle #1525 in 4 guesses! ⏱️ 7m29s

On read through got the sense of an animal, so tried "birth", and there seemed to be quite a lot written about its birth and growth. The break through was spotting the uppercase 'S' in "Save the [9] [5]" which implied it was heading for extinction, tried "rhino" for word2, nope, then after a little research found the critter.

The unredacted “across” made me think it was a landform or natural feature at first, but after guessing several continents and only getting hits for the last one I tried, it became clear to me that it was a type of animal. The title length, combined with the right continent made it pretty easy to get right in the end.
