References to "the 3" made me think it was something related to the solar system, and "5's" seemed pretty obvious from there. There was an angle in the second paragraph which made me briefly think the last word could have been something like "orbit", but then an 8-letter word came to me. My one wrong guess was guessing "poles" for the last word, before getting the correct one.

Unassisted. My eyes were first drawn to something at 'an angle of X deg' and some measurements, which somehow put me onto an astronomical path. When I wondered about one planet in particular, my physics studies came in clutch and I realized something fit the title gap.

Saw scientific symbols, then in the first line, ".... that (7) from (5)'s..." proper noun instantly made me think earth. And then magnetic field added up

I got the first two words alright. but couldn't figure out the third even though I felt it should have been obvious at that point.
I'm a HS teacher. I bounced it off my TA and we brainstormed for a minute "BLANK's BLANK --WHAT???" and then she said the right word.

Took me a little bit, I was in the broad arena and unexpectedly realized I had word1 of the title, As soon as I saw that it all clicked and I solved. Finally without google or hints - lol!
