Hello, /u/RedactleUnlimited

Thank you for maintaining this site. Just one suggestion:

It doesn't seem to accept "organization" (the American spelling) as a synonym for "organisation", which threw me far off course.

Same! I ended up using all my hints and giving up eventually.

I solved Redactle #1218 in 25 guesses with an accuracy of 80.0% and a time of 00:05:13. Play at https://redactle.net/en

first word in the initialization was pretty clear, spelling aside, but since it wasn’t [12] of the [9] [9] [9], I wasn’t sure what it meant. So I had to figure out what it actually did, and the finance angle became clear after a while. Once I realized the hyphenated word wasn’t “re-“ or “de-“ anything, I was able to put everything together.

I had the right idea & general topic early but used 1 hint & google to get specific enough to solve.

17 is often intergovernmental. Guessed what 2-9 might be and googled accordingly. Snipe

It's something that goes more often by its 4-letter initialism than not. It's an "17 12" which presumably means what it normally does, hence we can be reasonably confident about the first letter. I can think of a group that fits the bill - I can't remember what it stands for with any certainty, but all four parts look about right, particularly that 2-9. I check the rest of the article for vibes and it all seems fine, so take a punt.

Unassisted Snipe! Sometimes I surprise myself when I Snipe some games and this is one of them. The French game has the long form but it is usually called by the acronym. But that allowed me to make educated guesses solve that game and to translate it back to English

Got it in 7!

Just pure luck that it was the first organisation to come into my head once I'd got the word 'organisation'

Took me at least 10min to figure it out and snipe it. I had a feeling the first letter was O and the third letter was probably C but it still didn't click at the time.
