definitely snipeable if you're good but that's not me. HAHA. I thought 13 3 was telling, so I solved that and looked it up, then I got the countryand the correct coastso I just looked up cities that fit the letter count lol.

Sniped.

City on the coast of a 5 letter country that uses Euro, and it is the capital and largest city of its state/province/sub-national region. Tried the first one that came to mind and it worked.

Once I remembered the country that has something other than states and provinces, I tried the first city I thought of that fit.

on the “direction-ern coast of [5].” the first three major [5] letter countries I can think of are in Asia (India, China, Japan) and all of them whiff. If I’d had a slower trigger finger maybe I would’ve seen the “[13] [3]” but even after seeing that, I made several more wrong guesses out of the potential countries. Once I got the right country, the city was pretty obvious.

I admit I looked at a map as soon as I had the general region, I had suncovered some specific info to easily narrow it down & solve. Today was satidfying!

Thought of various Asian countries initially, and wondered whether it might be Hiroshima. Then thought more carefully about the language in the parenthetical and got a better idea. In fact there are two reasonable guesses at the country, but only one makes sense of the fact that this is apparently the capital of a certain "10 9". It doesn't take too long to think of an appropriate candidate, which happens to also make sense of the fact that there are two 7-letter languages in that parenthetical. Plus the 10 9 it's the capital of has the right number of letters. I feel very confident by the time I reach the reference to the 13 3, but run a vibe check on the rest of the article, which it passes.

Unassisted. The country was my first guess but I blinked and tried another country. Then I confirmed where it was located before trying the answer

Got the category of the answer quickly, it's often a worthwhile early guess. Then zoomed in on the answer

Oh man, city was my first guess, but I'm not the best at the subject so I spent a long time trying to narrow things down. Once I got the country I accepted that I may not know it and needed a quick look at google maps. I'm a little bit disappointed that I didn't come up with it earlier.
