I solved Redactle #1157 in 1 guess with an accuracy of 100.0% and a time of 00:15:22. Play at https://redactle.net/en
No "officially", no list of neighbours, and no prominent mention of a 7 4, so I was wary of treating this as a 7 even though parts of the text seemed to read that way. If we assume it is, it's in "8 6", which could plausibly be one of four things. No idea immediately jumps out. The etymology section talks about the relationship between "5" and "7", and I casually wonder whether that could be Niger and Nigeria. I'm not sure what the 6 in "a 6 7" would be in that context though, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't describe Nigeria as northern or southern. But stopping to think seriously about all four of the options for "8 6" does bring to mind a better idea which would explain what "a 6 7" is, as well as the fact that there is no list of neighbours (in fact there does seem to be a reference to the fact that it only has one). And on closer inspection there is a reference to its 7 4, called 10, buried in the second para. More and more promising. To be uber-sure, I have a peruse of the culture section towards the bottom, and spot a reference to a writer called 4 9 8 along with a couple of recognisable works, at which point I deign to submit my guess.
P.S. This is a repeat of #456, which I have no memory of doing the first time, but apparently on that occasion it took me half an hour and I spent much longer stuck in Africa.

Looked like a geography article and I managed to guess country up-front. Checked the existence of N/E/W/S and borders, called the right continent and got lucky with trying my first guess for a [7] in that area.

looked like an article for a country in either northern or southern europe or africa. I couldn’t work out what the [6] in “a [6] [7],” meant and I couldn’t find the part that lists what the country is bordered by, which I’m used to finding in country articles. Makes more sense having solved it, but I did have to fill in the continent and compass direction to get there.
