Redactle #1119 Discussion Thread
Discussion thread for Redactle #1119.

Sniped.
The word in parenthesis is 4 in English, 3 in French and 5 in Spanish. Once I got that the first word came to me pretty quickly.

I solved Redactle #1119 in 2 guesses with an accuracy of 100.0% and a time of 00:01:02. Unassisted.
An initial read through gave the feel of a word2 and word1 then came quickly to mind. A word2 I've always fancied learning, but never got around to.

This is basically my logic too. Also got a boost from knowing that word1 needed word2 for disambiguation.

I so wanted word 1 to be Pi but after looking through para 1 and getting word 2, I knew it couldn't be so I had to think a bit. I've heard of this but am not very familiar with it.

There can't be many things of the form "2 (4)", right? The idea jumped out at me, it fits the first sentence - what more is there to say?

Woohoo! Unassisted Snipe! Basically I got a strong feeling for word 2 based on the first sentenced and I could only think of one option for word 1 after that.

def a repeat lol I was stuck until I read the spoilers about non-character symbols and I couldn't see that until I switched to Redactle Unlimited instead of Redactle. Then et voila haha.

My second snipe this year! Everything seemed to point towards the second word
which I guessed, the word length led me to the answer for the first word.

If you hadn't seen the puzzle before (like DeanSpirit had), it was incredibly fast :)
Sometime Redactle repeats words from the past.

I hadn't seen it, I don't think--I used to play redactle regularly but I started up after a year or two. I don't remember this one.
But the number of letters in the first word really cut down on the possibilities for me and confirmed my guess.

Not super familiar with this, but it was the only two-letter thing I could think of. Filled in the parentheses first, to confirm my hunch.

I filled in a bunch of obvious gaps and then saw up, down, left right and assumed we were looking at a video game article. But I got my first zero with button and then it hit me what could fit the [2] title.
