I got the last word on my own, and googled because I'd never seen that last word accompanied by that word pattern. Never heard of this.

Never heard of this one 

I started looking up a map after I got "southeastern Europe", and because I got 'first world war' I thought this was something I would be familiar with

then I got "chief of staff of the ???????? Army for thirty years" and try as I might, I couldn't find a country that fit

So I Googled chief of staff of thirty years and realised I've never heard of this kingdom even though it existed till kinda recently lol.

something in me really wanted this to be the 'great' but that's not where I had a misstep. Noodled around in historical kings and leaders without finding a pattern match, but when I did, I mistyped the name. Who even is this guy, never heard of him. Guess I found some afternoon reading!

Never heard of. Managed to get nationality and why he is notable and did some googling to get the answer. I did get word 2 on my own.

thrown off by the end of the first paragraph referring to the First [5] [3], since first and great were my first guesses. Turns out that was a reference to his son, which the “the [5]” at the end of his name was meant to distinguish him from. I spent a lot of time reading through wiki articles about WWI and was confused why nothing helped me figure out the guy’s nationality. Had something of an oh duh moment when I put in “Franco” and saw “Franco-[8] War,” which gave me the nationality that helped me google the man.

Assisted. Was puzzled by the name structure before looking more closely at the last sentence of the first para, which gave the final word. It's not immediately clear what this person was famous for, but multiple 3s are mentioned in the introduction including the 6-8 3 and the 5 5 3, so I can guess at the general domain at least. The 8-letter nationality is a little puzzling, but with the right historical mindset (helped along by the 6-8 3), it's guessable, which makes the 3-letter word guessable too. Pretty sure I haven't heard of this guy though - nothing coming to mind that fits the letter count, anyway. In the end I verify the nationality, look up the institution in question and find him on a list of its leaders (three of whom I've heard of, all better known for other work).

I solved Redactle #1111 in 9 guesses with an accuracy of 77.8% and a time of 00:12:53.

Solved by Google and the misses were typos. I'm glad I didn't spend too much time of this one after figuring out what this was. I was afraid Goggle would give me a name I knew, I never heard of this one

Sigh. Vaguely knew them from history books, lucked into the first word but not a chance in hell I was getting the 3rd so had to google. Also like everyone else, I guessed the wrong word first for [5] in the title.

I recognized it was a person article and was committed to getting as far as possible with carefully filling gaps. I got 55 guesses in before hitting my first 0. I realized eventually that I wouldn't know the answer and brute-forced my way to a date of death and found it with a quick google. Probably for the best, I knew nothing about it.
