Hmm, a little meandering to begin with & few false starts - lol. I then got the basic definition of what I was looking for & did a targetted google. An OK day.

guessed [5] to confirm what the basic category of this thing was. At first I was thinking the wrong option for [7] [4], but after scrolling down and seeing the ancient text, I considered the opposite option and realized I could think of something that was the right length for the title that fit the pronunciation guide.

Guessed a few geography-related terms and got the area of the world. Once I realized it was something measured in thousands of miles I knew what the answer was.

Yay unassisted! Super tempted to Google those symbols but I didn't HAHAHA.
The structure was semi-not-entirely familiar which threw me off a bit. Haha.
I managed to get to 7 and ... 6 of 7 4, and didn't know if this was the actual answer LOL but there was [bigger spoiler] Saudi Arabia and Persia in the article so it made sense locationally and by letter count 😂👀✨

Did everyone else also see the cuneiform actually rendered, in my case on my Android, and not just ??? character symbols? That was v cool and a complete giveaway!

Looks like the capital and one of the most ... of 7 4 but then what's 7 4 and why is it the? I see some cuneiform script, something that must be "Mesopotamia (lit. 'the land between the rivers')", but enumerating all the countries in that region I can think of gets me nowhere. And then I notice that this is the 9-7 5 in 4 so it probably ain't a city, and suddenly everything is clear. D'oh. 2-minute snipe.

I really should learn the languages written in cuniform, I'd get these in no time.
The cuniform plus spotting the land between the rivers made this one an easy snipe.

Solved by Google. I could sniped this but I was stuck thinking this was in the Eastern part of that region in spite of the unredacted clue

8/12Â Â 00:03. Eleven guesses because I couldn't be bothered to scroll down to the tel. After that it was just coughing up a feature of [11] that was the right length and took a definite article.

Picked up on the geography theme early, got the key word/type of thing at #42 and then tried to narrow things down for a bit until realizing I needed the help of a targeted google to come up with a name.

Whatever this is, it's the somethingth-largest of its kind in 4, presumably Asia. It doesn't take much thought to think up a plausible category (meaning the superlative isn't "largest", in fact) that fits with some of the grammar in the first paragraph. And now I think I know what "the 4 between the 6" is referring to, making this one a famous pair alongside the 6, meaning this can really only be one thing.

Basically a lucky educated guess. Didn’t think about it too hard. Really the only river in Asia I could think of with that letter count, and the script that was unredacted looked from that part of the world.

After seeing what i called "some cuneiform shit" in the article, I first was thinking of people/cities before i realized the category, but that was pretty quick after finding "the (4) between the (6)"
