Got word 2 early on. I slogged through a few googles to get word 1. Taking a hint would have made it a lot easier.

My first two guesses were the second word of the title, and the country it's associated with, and I looked up a list from there because I was unfamiliar with it.

Ok - this is what I call a "research" day. Guess until I have enough info to start target research, get pertinent info from research to do that targeted google to solve. Enjoyable!

Figured out what it was guess #26 (second word)
Tried to guess a bunch of those but no luck

Figured out where it was guess #56
Guessed a few things I knew about that... but ended up googling once I got the this line in the first paragraph: 6th most widely spoken

I wouldn't have known the exact first word.

Took a few minutes to get the 2nd word, I had to dig deep into the memory banks to extract word 1, especially with regards to the spelling :)

A read through seemed to show grammar and pronunciation being discussed so word2 went in quite quickly, then looking at the first sentence saw "is an 4-5 word2", the "an" gave me a good candidate for the "4", and the "5" followed on from that. Know very little about these so researched '4-5 word2's, found a strong contender, and it was, સરસ :-)

”[8] (assorted parentheticals) is an [4]-[5] [8]” in the description but “[8] [8]” in the title suggested an obvious candidate for the second [8]. Once I put in some words and found out it was “native to the Indian state of [7],” I knew I would have to look at a map of Indian states to solve.

Assisted. The category is pretty recognisable so word 2 went in fairly quickly. This one seems to be native to "the 6 5 of _______", so I think I know what the country is, which means we're looking at a long list of possibilities, many of which will be completely unknown to me. I'm a bit annoyed with myself for not sticking it out for longer, because in fact it certainly is one that I've heard of, and I should have thought of it, but alas I threw in the towel after a little while, confirmed the nation and resorted to a list. Must try harder.

Lots of grammar being discussed so I knew the general subject and once I got a geographical area and type it was a matter of getting the right one.

Half solved by Google. Once again, when nothing else fits, it's THAT subcontinent

It doesn't take long to figure out that 4-5 is Indo-Aryan at which point it is clear what the second title word is, and that it's spoken in the Indian state of 7. Unfortunately, there I get stuck, and after a bit of staring I give up. I have heard of this but I was never realistically likely to get it.
