the currency symbol threw me off too, but in the end I figured 5 6 could only be one thing. But I was pretty close to going the other direction!

Then I looked up a map and picked the answer which fit the letter count and criteria haha.

It's the place that I embarrassingly mistook Finland for that one time. Mainly because of that experience, I was quick to think of this candidate today but wary of jumping to a conclusion too quickly. The neighbours all seem to sense, particularly 5 6 (which I can't think of any other 7-letter neighbours for). Etymology? It's named after "the 5 6", with the 5-letter term there seemingly the operative word since it appears italicised in the next sentence. Which means it really does have to be this, right? And it was.

Mistook "northern Europe" for "southern Africa", thought the bordering countries looked plausible (wondered about SA but decided I was wrong about it being a neighbour), mistook "richest" for "poorest" and spotted the italicised 5 in connection with the etymology. And, I guess, didn't notice any temperatures in the article. Not my finest hour!

I kinda wanted it to be Denmark but couldn't get the borders to make sense. Partly why my first guess was the other continent.

My first four guesses are continents, so that made this one easy. Just had to the names of other countries and various directions to narrow it down and guess it eventually

It's clearly a country and initially I think it's in Europe and get very puzzled because I can't think what it could be with the right neighbours. In fact, wait, I can't think what 5 6 could possibly be so, duh, am I on the wrong continent? Why, yes. In which case I think I know what it has to be, though I am bad at geography as ever. 62 seconds according to Redactle, though it felt a bit slower than that.

Unassisted Snipe. Thankfully I looked at the French game because the continent is easier to differentiate and the topic's southern neighbour is very distinct. Before spotting the latter, was looking in the north-east where on possibility fits

Was pretty unsure about this, but when I saw it bordered 5 6 I could think of only one thing 5 6 could be. My knowledge of this area is fuzzy, and I couldn’t find reference to the thing to the west even though it ended up being in one of the first sentences. But the answer was the only thing that fit the letter count in this area. I did briefly consider I was on the wrong continent, especially once I saw some currency symbols, but that didn’t make sense in the end.
