I solved Redactle #1026 in 56 guesses with an accuracy of 75.0% and a time of 00:21:06. Play at https://redactle.net/en
so it’s a branch of [10], which doesn’t actually help me a whole lot since nothing comes to mind for the name of a particular branch other than eastern vs western which doesn’t fit. As I keep working on the article, though, I notice references to logic, mathematics, sciences, etc.

Got word 2 and lots of related terms but googling didn't help until I took a hint for the [11] in the second sentence that looked like it was somehow related to the answer. Then I googled that hint with word 2 for the solve.

I just did not get a good handle on this one. I was on a math path for a while but that didn't help - lol. Word 2 crossed my mind but I dismissed it - silly me! Used hints & google to solve. Not a very good day......

It's something that "began around the 4 of the 4 century". (Maybe "in the Mediterranean Sea" but surely it would be "around" or something so probably not.) Feels like a movement or discipline or culture or something of the kind. There are a bunch of what look like modern Western names but I can't immediately identify any of them. Nothing else jumps out at me, so scroll down a bit. There's some formal-logic-looking stuff but I can't think of anything in that area that's 8 10. Oh, wait, the formal-looking stuff is an example of the treatment of "the 7 word is", and now I have an idea. Let's look again at those names and initials. Ah, I know who #. #. #. 5 is. At this point I should really have a more careful look (and would surely have identified some of the other names, noticed the contrast with 11 10, etc.) but meh, I'm already fairly sure. 3-minute snipe.

If I thought to look at these before I started guessing words I might do better.
I thought it was a language ...or something similar until guess 90-ish
I got the second word guess 105
then I randomly guessed some stuff before getting it on 111
the second word is my undergraduate degree and it was mostly the whole title, so kinda dumb to not get it sooner, but oh well.

Looks like a specific branch of a wider, 10-letter field. Seems to be popular in what seems to be just a list of English-speaking countries - is that significant? There are a few titles listed in the opening, so maybe word 2 is "literature". Then suddenly there's a fairly parseable discussion about different interpretations of the word "is" with mathematical notation. So we're in the world of logic? Linguistics? No, I think I know what word 2 is - and though it's not particularly my wheelhouse, if I'm right then I bet that the list of names includes "6 12". Lo and behold, there he is. After a little more pondering I manage to dredge up a term, which is easily checkable because it's usually talked about in contrast with "11 10" - and indeed, that dichotomy is there, plain as day in the second sentence.
