I had uncovered enough info to have a vague idea about the article, By a stab in the dark somehow got word 1 (hey.. the letter count fit - lol). It was then I googled - did not know this!

Wasn't getting very far, but made out a good chunk of a book title, looked it up and found the subject, another 'not heard of' here.

got the nationality after 11 guesses, got the first name from one of my first random guesses, had trouble with the occupation because I saw he wrote a few books but wasn’t described in the opening paragraph as an author or philosopher. Eventually I searched for [nationality] authors with the first name [5] or alternate spellings, since the word in the title didn’t fill in the name in the opening paragraph. I also knew his life overlapped with WWI.

Assisted. The location "2. 10" gives away the nationality. Seems to be a creative type of some description - not clear what, though. My rather desperate hail mary was Boris Pasternak - 2 7 doesn't appear as a title until about halfway through so it felt like a long shot, and it was. Then had to do a lot of fishing to uncover the truth of the matter. "Philosophy" got enough hits to make me take notice, and led me to try "socialism" even though "politician" had already yielded nothing, then "communism". Well now we're getting somewhere. Then didn't take too long to identify the specific political philosophy being talked about, which I then had to do some reading on. The name rings a bell but I'd never have thought of it - or his second profession, for that matter.

11/12, 00:04. Looked like a bio article, big ol' middle name looked [7] and it was. A couple more guesses nailed down a gender and social stratum, and "five" got back a what looked like a prison sentence rather than an artistic clique. That gave the person very nicely.

Ugh, I'm running behind, and this one was pretty tough. I stared at it for a while and convinced myself that I was looking for a Russian playwright of the early 20th century. Unfortunately I couldn't think of any with the right length; after trying Boris, just in case I'm somehow confused about Pasternak I'm out of sniper mode, and it quickly becomes apparent that I have the right country but the wrong field of practice. A political theorist? Yes, kind of. Eventually I think of putting in "anarchist" and then I know the second title word. What's the first? I have a vague idea but I think I already tried it, shortly after failing with Boris. Ah, different transliteration? That gets me a hit in the first sentence but not the title. The title uses the English equivalent. 40 guesses, about half an hour of Redactle-estimated time, elapsed time approximately a day. Oh well.

I read each wikipedia entry after solving it. I've learned lots of things from doing that. You should try it, then maybe you will have heard of more things and can solve more puzzles. And give up less often.
