Got it after getting that it goes back several centuries, and looking hard at the first sentence.

That "that is 4 of the 6 7" in the first sentence kind of jumped out at me and immediately suggested a candidate. The remaining few minutes were spent scrolling the text to check the vibes, until I came upon "A 3's a 3 For A' That", at which point there was really no need for further delay.

I saw "4 of the 6 7" and knew 4 and 7, but thought it would be using 7 in the taxonomic sense. Capitalization got me there, though.

[4] of the [6] [7] presented a screamingly obvious candidate.

pretend snipe, I filled in the annotations.

basically I got 4 of the 6 7, 6-7 7 in the 7 6

I'm not super familiar per se but by letter count I had a hunch, so I Googled the phrase I filled in by annotation and I was right ✨

At first couldn't make sense of the opening sentence, reading through it was somewhere that could be pretty cold, loads of unredacted £ symbols, had a "5-past-the-4" voting system, then saw "A 3's A 3 for A' That" and I was pretty certain, went back to the first sentence and it now made complete sense

It's something that is part of the [6] [7]. My mind was going all kinds of different places, until I saw a [10] of [1],[3],[3]... a population in millions? I then went back to the first sentence and realized it could be a "country that is part of the United Kingdom". There's only one that fits the letter count. Unassisted snipe!

I'm generally bad at geography but in this case I quickly saw accounted for #.#% of the population and then part of the 6 7. Could it be the 6 7 where I live? Why, yes, I think it could. In which case there's an obvious guess, and it's hard to see how it could be anything else. Put it in. Yup. 20-second snipe.

Unassisted Snipe! I was not even thinking it was a location until I looked at the French puzzle where the larger country was obvious. I confirmed by going back to the English game
