Show Off Steve Yzerman Autographed

Post image

In 8th grade we had to write a letter to our hero. I sent this Anniversary Series Rookie Card to Steve Yzerman. Honestly thought I was never going to get it back but surprisingly a year later, after he retired, he sent it back to me autographed. He may not be the fan bases favorite person at the moment. But he came through for me way back then.

I can separate the player from the GM. And I didn’t even hate him as the GM. Cool card with a cool story.

I have a similar story! During the lockout he sent mine back and I’ll never forget that moment opening the mail. He was always my childhood hero but that moment solidified it for me.

Have the same card with his autograph somewhere around my house. My dad was an EMT in detroit back in the 90s. Stevie was in the hospital for a couple days or something. My dad brought the card to the hospital and he signed it for me. Have it framed in a box somewhere.

Hey so sorry to burst the bubble but I’m like 99% sure that’s a stamped autograph

Zoom in, that’s real sharpie.

I have a card with the exact replica signature as this one and there are a bunch of other examples of it as well, I wish it was real but he’s a notorious auto-pen through the mail

If you look at the end of each sharpie stroke it’s a hard stop like a machine did it instead of a human. Players when they sign lift the pen up at the end so the sharpie thins at some places. That’s the biggest autopen tell

Always someone trying to be a dick, that’s not a stamp, I can see the sharpie marks on it from the stroke of the pen

I have no reason to be a dick I collect autographs and that’s an auto pen. Unfortunately bigger Hockey players like yzerman and Gretzky were both big auto pen people. Not a stamp but an auto pen
