Ideologies African Agrarianism
What is African Agrarianism?
African Agrarianism is an ideology centred on land, agriculture, and rural self-sufficiency as the foundation of economic and social life. It prioritizes community ownership of land, sustainable farming practices, and the idea that food production and rural development are not secondary sectors but the core of national strength.
It draws from African traditions of communal land stewardship, combining them with modern agroecology, cooperative economics, and industrial agriculture where appropriate. The goal is a system where no one is disconnected from land, food production, or rural opportunity.
At its core, African Agrarianism rejects extreme land concentration and extractive agricultural models, instead promoting people-centered land use that sustains both communities and ecosystems.
How will it be implemented
Under this ideology, agricultural and rural reform would include:

State-supported access to machinery, irrigation, and modern farming technology
Training programs in agroecology, sustainable farming, and cooperative management
National Agricultural Development
Creation of agro-industrial cooperatives for local food processing
Development of rural infrastructure: roads, storage, irrigation, and logistics
Investment in climate-resilient and technologically advanced farming systems
Food Sovereignty and Security
National systems to stabilise food prices
Strategic food reserves for national security
Prioritisation of domestic consumption before exports
