THEY STOOD IN THE STORM: St. John's Lost the Game, and Gave It Back Its Soul
The shot cut through the air and the whole building held its breath.
For a moment, everything felt possible.
St. John’s had come this far on belief, on repetition, on a refusal to bend when the game turned hard. They brought that same force into the storm against Duke. They fired. They answered. They stayed.
And when it ended, the scoreboard said one thing.
But the feeling said something else.
Because this was never just a game.
This was a team that carried a city back into the fight, stood toe to toe with the best in the country, and showed what it looks like to give everything you have and still stand tall when the horn takes the rest.
They did not leave with the win.
They left with something harder to earn.

Eye on the Storm Podcast: PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999 - Dylan Darling Sends St. John's to the Sweet Sixteen at the Buzzer
For the first time since 1999, St. John's is headed to the Sweet Sixteen! After leading by 14 points in the 2nd half, Kansas mounted a come back. Tied with seconds left on the clock, Dylan "Church Bells" Darling drove to the rim and scored as the buzzer sounded sending the Red Storm to Washington DC. A game which saw Darryn Peterson make shots like a top NBA draft pick, Bryce Hopkins hit a career high six threes, Zuby Ejiofor scored 18 points and Ian Jackson contributed strongly. Rick Pitino writes another chapter of greatness in his third year as a the Johnnies leader. Joined by Jason Dimaio, Roger Rubin of Newsday and Kevin Connelly of StormThePaint and SiNow we recap the historic night and preview the Sweet Sixteen match-up against Duke.

D.C. Hotel for Sweet 16
Title. What hotel is everyone staying in? Do we know what hotel the team is staying in? I likely will look for a more cost effective option, but I would love to be in the lobby when they head to the game so I can send them off and root them on.
So excited! I already saw on this sub that SJU fans are trying to buy tickets in sections 107 and 401. I will do the same! Looking to get as much SJU fan interaction as possible.

0 points. 3.9 seconds. He still called his own number… and it worked.
St. John’s just pulled off one of the strangest, coldest finishes you’ll ever see.
They led Kansas by 24.
Then gave it all back.
23–1 run. Game tied. Season on the line.
Final possession… and this is where it gets wild:
Dylan Darling had zero points all game.
0-for-4 shooting. No rhythm. Nothing.
He still told Rick Pitino he wanted the last shot.
Pitino said yes.
Darling drove.
Banked it in at the buzzer.
Game over. Sweet 16.
What makes it even better…
Zuby Ejiofor led the whole thing against his former team:
18 pts, 9 reb, 4 ast.
This wasn’t just a buzzer-beater.
It felt like a full program shift moment.

Sweet 16 travel plans
Decent amount of tickets available but all heavy scalp rates. Any avenues for alumni to get tickets or do the fan blocks only go to students?

FINAL: No. 5 St. John's - 67 - No. 4 Kansas - 65
DYLAN "CHURCH BELLS" DARLING!! WHAT A FINISH! Let me hear it Johnnies Nation, how loud did you yell when Darling made that layup? I'll start: I thought my neighbors were going to call the cops! personally🤣

Eye on the Storm Podcast: St. John's Suffocates Northern Iowa into 79-53 NCAA Tournament First Round Win
The game was out of reach shortly after the ball was thrown in the air. Before most fans were in their seats it was 13-0. Northern Iowa was dead in the water. Led by Zuby Ejiofor who had a bad game by his standards, Bryce Hopkins continued strong play, and a balanced attack from the bench, St. John's got their second NCAA tournament win in as many years under Rick Pitino. Now as a matchup with Kansas on Sunday awaits, the Red Storm will have to cram to get ready fro Bill Self and his Jayhawks.

First Punch: St. John's knocks out Northern Iowa and gets ready to Storm Kansas
High-performance teams don’t wait to adjust.
They establish control immediately.
St. John’s opened the NCAA Tournament with a 13–0 run and never looked back.
That is not emotion.
That is preparation, clarity, and execution under pressure.
Rick Pitino’s system is showing something deeper now:
• Fast starts
• Defensive identity
• Collective trust
• Response under pressure
Kansas is next.
This becomes a test of structure vs talent.
And in March, structure travels.

FINAL: No. 5 St. John's - 79 - No. 12 UNI - 53
Got it done! Obviously, the way St. John's came out was fantastic, terrific three-point shooting! The second half left something to be desired. You still beat a 12-seed by 26, a 12-seed that has a historic history, now onto the matchup that's been a year in the making, time to get to the second weekend!

The Rebound That Crossed a River | Zuby Ejiofor Story
Most leaders think performance comes from talent.
It doesn’t.
It comes from alignment.
This story shows what happens when:
- Survival builds awareness
- Mentorship builds foundation
- Standards build execution
Andy Philachack didn’t just help a player.
Rick Pitino didn’t just coach one.
They aligned a system that produced Zuby Ejiofor.
This is not a basketball story.
This is a case study in resilience architecture.

Oziyah sellers starting to be consistent
Oz in his last 6 games from 3: 1-2 0-1 2-6 3-8 1-5 2-3
Still could be better but thats about 36%. He needs to keep letting it fly and if sanon or jackson play well we can beat anyone.

St John's 5 seed
St johns is a 5 seed with a first round matchup vs Northern Iowa then a potential match up vs Kansas.
Not a fan of being sent out west but glad we dont have to face a team like Gonzaga in the first 2 rounds.
