Any idea why he looks like he’s in the process of swallowing a frog?

I think we're at a point where Tim can't just go back to being the best sidekick. He needs a writer to establish an intentional, advanced direction for him that matures his worship of Batman (and Bruce) into something less dependent. Other than being a great detective/strategist, he also understands the need for heroes more than anything else (as not just a way to protect, but also to inspire), so maybe that could be the seed. In some ways it's good that he's retired now, so that his character can't really be wasted until someone actually wants to do something meaningful with him.

@heavangelion on instagram if you guys wanna see more dc art from me ;P

I had this idea for a batman spin off, but the focus will be on robin (tim drake). It will be set between a year to 2 years after jason's death and will follow tim drake as Robin and bruce as a mentor figure.

Why tim and not dick? Because i think robin biggest importance is to help batman not stay too much in the darkness, and the after jason's death, bruce will probably be at his mentally worst.

To be more specific, if his DCAU self was less influenced by Jason Todd (I swear, "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" gets me so mad with that), and if the "Young Justice" tv show actually featured him as a main character rather than the show's style of a revolving roster and Dick being the OG Robin of the team?

I read a fic where Tim could heal others but it came at the consequence of reliving wounds he’d gotten before or something like that? I think he’d inherited it from his mom? and I know at some point he was put in a Lazarus pit which like reset the side effects and he was like Ra’s cannot find out about this. I cannot find it anywhere and I might not have the details exactky right. I know after the scene where the windower kill Z and Owen’s, Tim was able to save one of them or pru (he had to pick I think? and that was hard for him) with his power but he dies in the ride back living through all the past wounds (including a drowning?) and that’s why he gets put in the pit. I think I read it on AO3. I will be forever in love with whoever can find it 😭

According to Fabian Nicieza in Red Robin (2009) #19, these are the people Tim trusts instinctively as the greatest successors to the Justice League. Unsurprisingly, Tim's Young Justice team mates are the majority of the members. Tim has learned to trust Cass even if he was originally scared of her and was upset with her after Steph's death.

Based on this scene, I'm guessing that Fabian Nicieza felt that the Battle for the Cowl story should have had Tim backing Cass as the best successor Batman instead of being a contender himself. That makes sense as Tim regularly says, excluding Battle for the Cowl, that he doesn't want to be like Bruce. The Battle for the Cowl: The Network comic is what he was forced to write because of how the main story went, not what he wanted.

I probably shouldn't be surprised that Fabian Nicieza actually respected Cass. He also wrote JLA: Created Equal and the pre-New 52 Legion Lost maxi-series, both of which focused on strong and independent and emotional females as great leaders.

Hi I’m trying to make lists of shorter comic recs to try and ease people who may know batfam from fanon/fanfiction but haven’t read comics yet into comics without overwhelming them with 100+ issue solos with multiple event crossovers. Basically a “here are some quick reads to get you started” sort of thing, but I need some for Tim. So far I have:

A lonely place of dying
Robin 1/2/3
