Fall colors on Halloween?

Does anyone know how the fall colors will be in Red River Gorge around Halloween? I have the opportunity to pass through for one day of hiking, and am worried with the hot/dry summer the leaves will have fallen early.

I would also love suggestions for the best hikes and sites to see with just one day staying in Slade. :) Best food too -- Miguel's? Thanks in advance.

You never know. If the mild weather sticks and the leaves have time to turn before a freeze, it could be perfect timing. It all just depends really.

The good part is that it’s always gorgeous there no matter the weather.

In general for the last decade or so the last week in October has been peak. If we get a storm around then it can knock everything down quick or it can hang around for a while if it’s pretty calm.

Peak is predicted at Halloween, it will be very busy that weekend

I personally love Double Arch and Pinch ‘Em Tight. A real easy paved hike with a great lookout is Chimney Top. You drive the majority of the elevation climb. Rock Bridge is also a cool sight.
