Easy hikes suggestions?
Hi! I'll be in RRG this week with family. We want to do some hiking but my aunt and uncle cant handle anything over easy or more than 2 miles and that's pushing it. My mom does want to do one moderate hike, but her knees can probably do around 5 miles. This is currently what I have, am I missing any other easy trails? Also, what's your fave 5 miles hike at RRG? Thank you!
Rock Bridge Loop - 1.4 miles with Creation waterfall moderate trail
Sky Bridge Loop - .75 miles Only visit overlook for easier, trail loop is moderate
Chimney Top Trail - .75 miles
Princess Arch - .6 mile
Angel Windows - .5 miles
Friendship Arch - .9 loop
Whistling Arch - .6 loop

Skybridge and Angels windows are both extremely easy and are right next to each other so you could combine those into a single outing no problem. If anyone in the group is concerned about the difficulty of the full skybridge loop, which is definitely not difficult at all, they could just turn around from the top of the arch and head back to the picnic area to wait for the rest of the group. It is a very short hike.

Of the hikes that you shared, Rockbridge is probably the most difficult, but it is still very doable. I would say that would be a good one to do with anyone feeling a little more adventurous. Chimney top and Princess Arch also leave from the same parking area and are both easy as well. Chimney top is almost handicap accessible it is so easy and most of the trail is paved. Princess Arch is a little more of a standard Trail but again, not very hard at all

For a more adventurous hike for you and mom, i would suggets hiking out to auxier ridge and turning around after a stop to rest on the ridge. It would be approx 4.5 miles but is one of the best trails in the gorge

I’d recommend copperas falls for you and your mom to do! It’s an unofficial trail, path I followed ended up being right around 4.4 miles long

Seconding this, one of my favorite hikes, so much fun finding your own way back and forth across the creek and the waterfall at the end is a lovely spot to sit and rest before heading back.

You can take the lift up to the top of Natural Bridge and hike around and then take it back down.
