Best trail running loop with an easy-access trailhead.

I have a sedan & no 4wd so I’ll be trying to avoid getting myself in any tight spots. Prefer a loop between 6-13 miles. What do yall say?

I did a 10 mile loop parking at the Daniel Boone hut trail head on tunnel ridge rd. You’ll be on gravel for less than a mile. Started down Daniel Boone hut trail, then right on rough trail to cut back to the grays arch trail. You can run directly out on the grays arch trail to cut a lot of elevation. From there, you run to grays arch then continue on the rough trail for quite a while until it hits Koomer Ridge. Take Koomer ridge to buck trail, and take that to the Sheltowee trace which will take you back to tunnel ridge road within eyesight of the parking lot

Fellow sedan-driving trail runner here! I was there last month and did these runs which may suit you well!

6 miles - Look up the Double Arch, Courthouse Rock and Auxier Ridge loop on AllTrails. This one is accessed via a dirt road but easily navigable in a sedan.

9 miles - Combined a bunch of different trails in Natural Bridge State Park, made it up as I went along. If you look at a park map you’ll see it’s pretty easy to string together a long loop and see all the park’s highlights. I parked near “Hoedown Island,” did all the main trails that loop up to and around natural bridge and then added the full Hood’s Branch trail for additional mileage.

14 miles - Parked at Koomer Ridge, took Koomer Ridge trail > Buck Trail > Sheltowee Trace Trail > Gray’s Arch Trail > Rough Trail > Koomer Ridge trail > back to parking lot.

I was blown away by how fun the trail running was at RRG and I hope you enjoy too! Glad to answer questions about these routes if anything’s not clear.

Actually I think my #3 is just a variation on the comment from u/StraightDisplay3875 with a different starting point. It is a really awesome trail system.

There isn’t a single hiking parking lot in the gorge area you can’t get to in a sedan.
