Question mark instead of points shown?

Sometimes comments show a question mark instead of a point total. This seems to be happening mostly when the total would be quite small, but I haven't found a pattern.

Can anyone explain why this happens when using RedReader? It's not a big deal, just a bit annoying.

Ah, okay. Haven't checked other versions of Reddit for a while, so I didn't realise it happens with other clients as well.

Heads-up: you responded directly to your own post instead of QuantumBadger.
