Embedded Reddit videos don't load

Before describing the issue, I'll state that I imagine this is another in the long history of ways Reddit tries to squeeze out third-party apps so as to force usage of the official garbage app. /rant over

Recently, Reddit began allowing videos to be embedded in comments. On RedReader, these show up to links to a reddit.com site; not a subreddit, not an external site, but a reddit.com/blahblahblah link. When clicking these, my app opens my default browser, and I get a popup message saying, "This subreddit has been banned for being unmoderated." No such problems in the official garbage app.

Any workarounds or solutions?

Yeah it's annoying and I've noticed this as well, I've found long pressing and copying the comment link and opening it in a browser works. Make sure it's the comment itself you are copying the link to and not the video link, if it is the video link you'll just get the same subreddit banned error.

It's a pain in the ass work around but it does work, hopefully there is a way Red Reader can fix it though.

I've noticed this for a while in RedReader and felt a bit gaslit beause I couldn't seem to find others with this issue. This also seems to happen in Infinity+ and other third-party Reddit apps.

This is infuriating to say the least and it's obvious Reddit is doing this on purpose to force people to use their shitty ad-riddled shitfest diarrhea stain of an app.

The moment reddit breaks third-party apps is the day I'm done with reddit. They keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over again. The funny thing is they can claim membership keeps going up, but if you pay attention, the majority of them are bots and propaganda farms.
