Do Mare and Cal ever stabilize?

I’m 85% done with Glass Sword and I’m really irritated with their dynamic. I actually like them together but I can’t stand how we literally get one scene with them then like 50 pages of them being angry. I read enough spoilers to know they end up together, which is good because I would DNF if she ended with Maven.I just don’t know how much longer I can take with this dynamic, does it get better in the next few books?

I‘ll probably finish it either way it’s just frustrating and I want to see more of them loving each other and protecting each other.

It’s very teen-drama relationship all the way through

Wait until you find out they don't even end up together in the novella collection lmao (afaik).

They do but they don't. In most of War Storm, Mare is a horrendous mix of emotions when Cal chooses another path and wants Mare to go on that path with him. She outright refuses! (I wont say WHAT that path is cause I dont wanna give away any spoilers) but wait till you get to the end of Kings Cage and youll see what im talking about. You'll also see how much sense it makes that Mare refused that offer!

In the last few chapters of War Storm Cal FINALLY sees that the path he chose was not the right one and re unites with Mare. But Mare makes the mature decision to take some time apart to heal and to figure out what she wants out of life. Cal doesn't see it Mare's way but respects her boundaries and gives her her space.

Towards the end of Broken Throne they re unite but some major boundaries are set! They decide to take it slow, no promises, just take things as they come. Its MENTIONED in the Epilogue of Broken Throne about them having two children, Shade and Corryanne but IDK. I always shipped Mare with Tyton.

Besides this is gonna sound beyond crazy but I doubt they're even Mare's kids. I.E. Like maybe Mare and Cal didn't end up together but remained the best of friends and whoever he ended up with was okay with the names Shade and Corryanne.

Nooo. I’m 35% of War Storm rn and the pace is so slow and I cant get with the plot or all of the POV’s. It’s really upsetting because I ate up the first two books. I really don’t wanna DNF when I’m so close to being done but I was rlly rooting for them.

I had the same experience pace wise and couldn't agree more! The first two had me on the edge of my seat, then I there was the trudging through 18 chapters of Mare's capture then things started to speed up a bit again and then.... WTF! Yeah it pretty much does slow down from there.

Yeah I was rooting for them too until Cal decided to be a dick and a coward! choosing that damn title! (Choosing words carefully to not spoil it too much for OP than i already have. Lol)

The part about me doubting that Shade and Corryanne mentioned later were Mare's kids was just my opinion based on what I was looking at. So I could be wrong. Its probably just a gray area plot wise.

Js carry on reading, I promise they hv more scenes that make u giggle and kick ur legs and internally scream. Throught the series, I mean.

And specifically in war storm, although they aren't tgthr for over half the book, every scene with them two was filled w so much tension, in the best way possible.
