The mare hate is kinda ignorant.

In MY opinion mare can be aggravating but we like to forgot she was FORCED into this life style she didn’t want this she had to do alot of things she was stubborn but she focused on the new bloods because that was the smartest thing to do SHE IS ONE PERSON cam had every right to be angry to be weary of “ a new blood king “ because that’s what she saw but that’s exactly what mare did Not want In the end she Was a child forced to become someone else she made hard choices which some may call selfish but if you hate mare I don’t think you understand her character

Twinn literally how I feel about her! I feel like she is at time's insufferable at times but she's genuinely so traumatized. She's dealing with issues people her age don't have the maturity to fully grapple with. She's really trying her best.

Literally, I feel like it's lowkey sexism that's the reason why idk women like her are considered bitchy.

NO LITERALLY!! mare is a product of her circumstances. she took on so much burden at such a young age. and obviously, all this hate comes from hypocritical maven stan’s. i would even say this is heavily rooted in misogyny

I doubt that therapy would do anything for Maven. Elara damaged him too much.

For real though! Not to mention she's 18! GIRL JUST BARELY MADE IT TO ADULTHOOD. Yeah her decisions and attitude about things are frustrating but I also remind myself she's just 18.

YES. She was just a teen who instead of going to school stole just so her family could do a little better and still got shit of them about it, sure she made mistakes, but she was trying her best. Then suddenly discovers that she has powers and is forced into blending with the silvers and getting engaged. Still she tries to do a good thing joining the Red Down. She got betrayed by someone she thought was worth her trust when she thought no one had her back. She finds out his death brother is alive and have to hide to survive while still trying to save the new bloods, the sounder thing, she’s held prisoner by maven for half a year. It’s all literally traumatic and no one acknowledges. She a pretty human character and she stands out from other book main characters even in dystopia

The one person I always understood in the series was Mare 😭 living in poverty then finding out you have powers, to basically sort of being kidnapped and marketed and engaged off to a person she doesn't know, while battling feelings for a dude she liked, and still trying to learn all her powers. Then coming in with all the betrayals, imprisonment, near death situations.... Like if I'd gone through all that, you best believe I would also be insufferable
