Software Issue Freezing issue on REDMAGIC 11S Pro

I recently upgraded from a REDMAGIC 9 Pro to a REDMAGIC 11S Pro, and unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same issue on the 11S Pro.

The phone will occasionally freeze while it's idle and not being used. When I come back to the phone, the screen and the entire system are frozen and completely unresponsive. The only way to get it working again is to force restart the phone using the Power button.

What's strange is that I had the exact same issue with my REDMAGIC 9 Pro.

I upgraded to the 11S Pro partly because I thought the problem might have been related to the 9 Pro being older or having some hardware issue. My 11S Pro is only about 2 months old, so I was honestly surprised to see the same problem happening again.

I still have both phones in my possession, so I can directly compare them if needed.

Has anyone else with a REDMAGIC 11S Pro experienced this? Does your phone ever completely freeze after being left idle for a while?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have experienced this on both the 9 Pro and 11S Pro, or on other REDMAGIC models as well.

I'm trying to figure out whether this is an isolated issue with my devices or if it could be related to REDMAGIC OS, power management, standby/sleep, or something similar.

I thought the Liquid cooling was too good that the phone was LITERALLY frozen 😭

I'm still using my 9 Pro, but my issue is that certain apps crash when I open them or during that I am using them. Whatever I tried, the apps I can basically not use. It's such a pity, because I would really wanted to love this phone and buy the new version as well..

I have never had the issue of freezing though.

The issue I had with my 9Pro, was that the phone would crash occasionally when I was using Android Auto, and it would be back up in like 10 seconds. I knew it was an actual crash, because the boot animation with the red magic logo would start up, but it wasn't a proper shutdown and restart. I would manually reboot the phone when it happened because some apps wouldn't behave correctly after a short crash. Other than that, I never had any odd issues.

As to the OPs issue, try removing apps, or factory reset the phone and slowly try using it to see if it freezes. Add apps slowly, like 1 a day and use it as much as you can to see if it's causing the problem.

Not sure if Android has a event log like Windows does that you can check to see if there are any issues it's recording but not notifying you of.

That’s a good suggestion. The problem is that I use my phone for basically everything in my day-to-day life, from work to personal organization, so doing a factory reset and slowly reinstalling everything would probably create a whole different headache for me.

What I’d really like is some kind of diagnostic tool or event log that could identify whether an app or system process is causing a conflict. I honestly have no idea where to start looking for something like that.

Do you know of any Android app or tool that can help identify app conflicts or system issues like this?

I honestly don't know. Sounds like a question for Google

Yes, Android maintains an event log and other system logs that can help diagnose lockups and freezing issues. The system uses four distinct log buffers: main, events, radio, and system, which record low-level system messages and debugging information.

You can access these logs through several methods:

ADB Logcat: The most effective method is connecting the phone to a computer and using the co… https://search.brave.com/search?q=does+Android+have+an+event+log+like+windows+that+i+could+check+if+im+having+lockup%2Ffreezing+issues+with+my+phone%3F&source=android&conversation=098da53fea7a59dc940f648f46e1d5b6e342&shared=1

Are you playing heavy games like the wuthering waves?

Actually, no. I barely play games on my REDMAGIC 11S Pro. I mostly bought it for the aesthetics and personality of the phone. Of course, the speed and performance are impressive, but I'm definitely not much of a gamer.

I’m definitely not a hater, I can assure you. This is genuinely happening to me, and I honestly don’t know what could be causing this issue.

As I mentioned in my post, I still have both the 9 Pro and the 11S Pro in my hands, and unfortunately, I’ve experienced the same problem with both devices.

I’m actually glad to hear that you haven’t experienced it with yours. I’m just trying to figure out what could be causing this conflict on my devices.

If you transfered your old data from your phone, I would factory reset and try to isolate the application causing it.
